While all the regulars here have proven their maturity in how they have handled this.... (well I would use the word idiot but I think that's too generous)... I have to just laugh at his posts!! They are so poorly written, I can't keep from laughing while reading them.

Do you understand this scripture Isa 26:20 .Jehovah is telling his people to into their interior rooms and shut the doors. Why would anyone
sell their homes after reading a scripture like this?

how to spot a witness.. here is a guide that has been compiled by some of the best minds in the field of witnessology.. first some important notes.. witnesses are not as rare as you might think.. professer i.m.great says,.

"if you know what you are looking for you might be able to spot several in one day.. i must warn you though that it is considered dangerous to aproach a witness it is best to keep your distance and observe , maybe with the aid of binoculars.".

if they approach you in a street don't panic,do your best to avoid eye contact and walk straight on.if they call on your house don't be tempted to answer the door just relax and carry on with what you are doing .they may knock several times , don't give in to the desire to open the door eventually they will leave , be warned though they will be back another day.. signs to look for.

wouldn`t it be great to get some territory cards with a list of dubs adresses?walk up to there door all dressed up with your briefcase and ring the bell and wait to see the joyful smile on there face willing to greet a fellow dub!

and then pull out some old quotes from old mags and confront them!hey why not make up a few pamphlets too!

Do they bug people?

i have heard comments in the past about people being bugged, telephones, homes, cars, etc.. does anyone really know this happens or is it apostate urban lore?

I've always kinda wondered the same thing...although I do know that even though Witnesses will say how law abiding they are, if it suits them they will resort to anything they need for 'proof' of wrongdoing. They call it theocratic warfare.. I think.

But I've yet to personally know someone who's been bugged or taped.

Any good stories out there?

note: from this point forward begins not only my final journey out of the jws, but even more bizarre and twisted turns in the road.

i hope you all find this interesting, because to me it only gets more intriguing and weird for the 3 12 years following january 1992... moment of decision: i can point back to the mountain top visit with god, or maybe today i might call it a visit with my higher power, whomever she/he/it might be.

over wishful thinking has led me to believe that the problem with God is not whether he
exists, but who he is and what he wants with us. I do not buy into atheism because it
comes across as arrogant to say for sure that there is no God. I find nature to simbiotic
and complex to believe that evolution is the sole cause of our existence ... evolution is
proven, but there are some big gaps in some of it that science cannot explain. So I leab
toward God. I find Jesus Christ to be awesome, and the one person in history that
continues to be my last hope in God.

you see; i had to make an important decision on where i stood as far as jw's are concerned.this chat site was very helpful.

Thank you so much for your kind words, and your sad story. Fortunately I am an adult now (28) and am married with a child of my own. How I wish I talked to someone like you when I was young!! Anyone that knew of the abuse (which was everyone) turned their heads... only one sister went to the elders and they told her not to involve herself, because it would cause a rift between my mom and her.

You and I are alot alike.. I still accept some things the Witnesses believe, but that doesnt make me want to be one for a million years. I dont have all the answers, but I feel better equiped to face God at the end knowing I did all I could with a pure heart.. instead of treating others like garbage and proudly calling myself His Witness.

Right now I am currently a licensed foster parent. I am attending classes on how to take care of abused children. When I was a Witness it wasnt encouraged.. but now I am in the 'world' and able to help hurt ones! Ironic..

Your story reminded me of someone else I knew. His step-kids were a handful and the brothers did nothing to help.. only to make him feel paranoid and abusive. I am so glad your daughters havent disowned you!
(I even thought about joining the Army to get out of my house but couldnt bring myself to do it... I'm wasnt very disciplined! Or maybe I was just tired of overbearing authority..)
