Why are Republican's so consistantly dishonest?
That's what makes them republicans.
Let's not start this again.........
No, please, let's do.
it hasn't gone unnoticed that the republicans who are saying, "we need to get to the bottom of the obama wiretapping" and "let's investigate this" - are the same people, when it comes to trump's russian ties, who are saying, "we shouldn't look at this at all - it's just a bunch of lies and hype.".
no evidence whatsoever for claims about obama need a congressional investigation.
but mountains of evidence about trump with more coming out everyday can be swept under the rug.

i am compiling my list.
you can add yours if you like to.. 1. the hypocrisy in religion.. 2. religion make good people bad and bad people worse and worse people worst.. 3. the false dates given in religion.. 4. religions use their fundamental books to suit their beliefs.. 5. wrong and distorted views about sexual life.
the list goes on.
My reason is that i see no need for it in my life.
Not all religion is bad.
I wish I could completely agree with that. When I look at the entire big picture, religion has cause more harm than good to people. Not everything is bad, but in its entirety, nope, religion is guilty of a whole lot of bad things.
i am compiling my list of reasons.
you can add yours if you like to.. 1. religions like telling their members to pay a lot of tithes thereby making their members to be in need and poor..
I think that at this point in my life I have quite a lot to show for. I feel quite successful, particularly when I consider how since my own birth seems like I was set to fail. Hence, I don't think that I have to have or give any reason for me to succeed without religion. My life so far is my reason.
That said, in now way am I trying to make what others share invalid.
The attitude of some churches toward tithing really is a problem.
Some churches are all about money. I've even known of some churches where people have to apply for membership and they have to be approved, and part of the application involves showing proof of income. I know that running a church and some of the community services that some churches run cost money, but time and time again the amount o money that they receive many times surpasses what they need for those programs, not to mention that many times they obtain funding from grants and foundations.
hola compañeros y compañeras.

Hello, friends. I am the person who published the Circuit Overseer Guidelines for our good friend, Cedars. Below is the revised manual in English. As you can see, I don't speak English, since I am a latino, but I can understand some.
(Machine translations are not very accurate).
Gracias, accesible.
i have had some ultra weird exchanges with some existing jws these past 2 months that have me caught off guard (which is rare for me) - but overall just odd.. 1. i was out at a happy hour with some coworkers, and a woman whom i used to be friends with in another congregation came in with her husband.
background: her kids, myself, and her best friends son - were all close friends!
so we all were around this woman and her bff on a regular basis.
I guess what I am saying is that it never ceases to amaze me how easily these JWs FORGET their past actions.
Thank you for sharing this. It was a nice read. The part that I quoted caught my attention. I don't think that they just forget. Please understand that the the WT, as a controlling cult, does create a negative influence in people. There is something for those people still in it. One is obvious, a girlfriend. I have the feeling that the guy may not feel too adequate about himself getting lucky mating out in "the world". The structure and the apparent "shortcuts" that a congregation provides may make him compelled to get what he thinks he needs.
Another way of looking at it is as a type of battered woman syndrome. Just like people under abusive relationships for extended periods of time, they may become convinced that there's absolutely nothing for them outside of their little congregation. That's not happy way of living, but that syndrome is real and does happen in all kinds of abusive relationships, and that includes religious relationships.
The there's also just plain laziness. Some people prefer to have all the answers given to them, told how to live and have others make decisions for them. Pathetic, but true, it happens.
At the end of the day, we all live with the decisions we make. Pretending that "it's only about Jehovah", or that the scriptural marriage thing suddenly isn't valid to accommodate for somebody's purpose is not going to make their lives better, it's not going to make them righteous, and it's certainly not going to make their issues go away, not to mention that there's no talking snake, no paradise, no Jehovah. Some people get it, some don't.

That's what people in the real estate business do, sell properties for profit.
from an apologist site:.

hence, counting back from 537 bce (the year the bible says the jews returned home) for a full seventy years, we arrive at the year 607 bce.. .
As I have posted before, personally y stance is: Really, Jehovah? Such important message that is supposed to save many lives and matters so much, and it's supposed to be about the most important person next to the so-called Jehovah, is so, so important that we need an ancient book, archaeologists, theologians, chronologists, and who knows how many more other "ologists" to decipher it with prophecies, visions, dreams, involving World War 1, the destruction of Babylon, and this convoluted information forced to be tied up with history.
Give me an effing break.
i am new hear to the board.
i want to share my story to you all.. i was a born-in jw, baptized at a very young age, pioneered, woke up three years ago, disassociated last year, i am twenty years of age now.
shunned by all my friends in the org.. please show me some love and share some of your experiences with me.
Welcome.
Please show me some love and share some of your experiences with me. Good-bye for now. I am looking forward to your kind replies.
I was born in, I'm not in my 20s (nor in my 30s, nor in my 40s). I'm an old-school JW, but I left when I was 23. I planned to leave and with the help of a boyfriend I had at the time I was able to make it a process of what we now call fading.
I left for a number of reasons, but my most important reasons had nothing to do with what they teach. I felt that the WT was shove down my throat forcibly, and I never had the opportunity to properly decide by myself if I wanted to be a JW, which looking back, it was very obvious that I was never interested in being one.
The rest of my relationship with the WT has been as minimal as possible, and I keep up to date with some things mostly to be able to deal with some of my family members who still are. Other than that I can't care less about anything they do or say. I don't deny the influence of that organization in my life, but the way I look at it is, some people have to overcome worse things. The negative influence of a bad organization is not as bad as other cults have harmed other people.
In any event, welcome. I'd suggest that if you want to get a feel of people's personalities, spend some time reading their posts.
a local elder had the part this week on the "good news" brochure.
he said: "if the householder has any questions, direct them to jw.org, don't say, just look up jehovah's witnesses on the internet(an older sister said this at the door), if you do they will be directed to a site visited by apostates and weak witnesses!
" "this mistake, would cause the householder to never accept bible truth".. i thought to myself, wow, i'm sure some listening to this part, will get curious now(many in the hall are just being exposed to the internet, and practicing with their new tablets) and do, just what they were told not to do..

Nothing really new. That' just the technology version of the same thing that they do with any source of information. They say/do the exact same thing with college education, libraries, magazines, news, any communication media. The Internet is no different.
does the rank and file or the elders view us as disassociated or disfellowshipped or simply "weak" or possibly a "prodigal son" type?.
I think that the real way they see us is with jealousy.
