The Watchtower are Right About Blood...
by cofty in... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.

AMNESIANO, great post. I can't remember the year of my last super, I mean, the last memorial I attended, but it's been quite a few decades. I do remember that not attending was the first time when my family had no choice but to admit that I was serious about not being a JW.

What is in a name - God is Love
by Check_Your_Premises induring my time dealing with the jw, i was always a bit annoyed by the whole "use god's name" thing.. one day i asked somebody the following:.
"if i murder and torture a child, and claim to do it in jehovah's name, who did i serve.
if i rescue, comfort, and help heal the same, and claim to do it in the name of satan, who then did i serve?".

Or that there's not such thing as good, and we as humans don't need god to do and be all the good things that you list.

I remember that every now and then there was some kind of shakeup like that in assemblies and other special events, but it seems like now it is a common occurrence. I feel bad for the JWs who have been in there for a long time and this is what they are now facing. Sad.

Sure, can you send me a copy or a link to the copies? Also, do they have any sort of authentic seal so I can be fairly sure the transcripts weren't just made up?
They are pdf files made of the official transcripts from the court documents. Yest they are official documents. Please send me a PM with an email address I can send them to.

Dad Turns 70 Today
by neverendingjourney inand i can't wish him a happy birthday.
they converted when i was an infant, so birthdays were never a thing for us.
still, i'd love to be able to throw him a party, surround him with friends and family, and show him how much he's appreciated.

Use the trick that my JW mother did. She always called her children in her birthdays., She just called to ask how are we, and in the conversation she would squeeze in something like, you know it was a day like to day that I gave birth to you, as if it was a coincidence. She always acknowledged my birthday.
I hope that works for you if you feel it's difficult to do it the traditional, normal way.

I wonder if she blocked you and then posted in some forum "Desperate Iamallcool looking for a mate at Eharmony!", and she was like no way!
