Apparently I'd been in prison, gone to wife-swapping parties and consorted with fortune tellers.
I guess they have to demonise those who leave less others too are tempted to stray.
What did they say about you?
Back in the day, they said that I was homosexually prostituting myself, and that they saw me entering older men's cars, late at night doing only-who-knows-what (I was unable to get an answer as to what were JWs doing late at night in such area, where they allegedly saw me).
They said that they saw me dressed in woman's clothes in some street corner (up until the year 2000 I had heavy mustache, you can imagine how feminine I would have looked! And it was the 80's, can you imagine the size of the shoulder pads I'd need?)
They said that I was a sexual predator of sort, and that parents should be wary of their children around me.
They said that they saw me entering seedy bars, and hanging being friends with shady characters. (I started taking classes in college and was at night, working full time, and still doing the JW work).
They said that I was stealing money from my boss at work, and that I was a very irresponsible worker (my job at the time was with a non-JW brother of a JW, and they were always asking my boss questions about me).
They said that I was bringing men to have sex into my apartment (at the time I had an elder and two MOs as roommates).
Gossip in the last congregation I belonged to was insane, morbid and very ill-intended. Those people at the Rio Piedras congregation were just downright filthy nasty.
That's when I decided to have fun with them and give them real reasons to talk.
