what big change could bring down the watchtower?
What would bringing them down do? Do you expect that people are not going to fall for something else? The WT ceasing to exist will not eliminate the real problem. I can't care less one way or another.
what single big change do you think could back fire and bring the cult down ?.
me: tithing..

i’ve been here for many years.
the tone seems to be different in this place.
not so many pissed off exjws .
Are You An Angry Exjw At This Point In Your Life?
Yes, when i'm angry.
ive just watched on youtube the b.i.t.e model of cult mind control by steve hassan.
all 23 steps apply to the wts.
its awful knowing i was tricked and how subtly it was done without me even knowing.

Just out of curiosity, can you tell what specifically "got you"?
i mentioned this to the two ladies who came by yesterday.
they indicated to me through bible readings (like 2 timothy 3 and another) that jw's are not what are called "christian zionists.
" is this true because if it is not (that jw's actually do support israel), i want no part of the jehovah's witnesses.
I've been banned from no less than four so-called "Christian" forums for speaking out against the atrocities committed to this day by the Israeli government on the indigenous peoples of Palestine; Muslim, Christian, Jew (orthodox) it doesn't matter.
Are you sure that's the reason?
dr margaret t singer, a professor of psychology at berkeley university california has studied the experiences of 700 cult members.
''consciously and manipulatively, leaders and their trainers exert a systematic social influence that can produce great behavioral changes,'' said dr. singer.. .
one of the ways the jw organisation exerts so much influence over its members is because it has created a culture sustained by constant propaganda, which polices itself according to how the leadership has moulded it.
Why the JW org should fail.
Thank you for sharing, interesting thoughts. May I inquire, what would it mean to you if it fails? What would it mean to you if it doesn't fail?
I wonder if one thing or another happening will change your thoughts and feelings towards them, and why if that's the case.
I ask because I believe that detaching from that organization (TO ME) is not having any changes in any feelings, decisions or anything else for that matter regardless of what their fate is. Big success or big failure coming from that organization don't speak to me one way or another.
Would it make a difference? Should it? Why?
so i shared a facebook video from newsbroke with my wife.
you many agree or disagree with the points made in the video.
please, don't make this about that.
Thanks for sharing. I find your stories fascinating.
some of my old jw friends are sickly and getting on in age.
so far, i’ve only gone to my mother’s memorial and have avoided the kingdom hall altogether.... your thoughts please?.
...your thoughts please?
My thoughts are that as much as I can opine on the matter, this is your family, your bonds, your relationship, and people that you love. No other JW or ex-JW can/should tell you what your decision should be.
this week i visited my sick father in law.. then an old elder from my far away congregation came in for coffee.
did not see him in 15 years.. nice chat.
had a lot to say, is alone, his sick wife disabled and away from home.. he told me: "living alone is so hard.
Do you notice the same??
Yes, and it breaks my heart.
a great animation, showing the spread of humans across the globe (something like a troublesome rash spreading over your body).
then, on to the gradual poltiticisation of humanity.
interesting to watch the animated hi-speed spread of the mongol empire, which scared the sh*t out of europe.. the animation doesn't show religious brands (except islam, which was both a religious brand and a political brand).
How cool! Love it. I'm actually going to use if (with permission, of course) for a course I'm designing.
it has been sickening to read the most recently leaked documents by faithleaks.
it makes me so angry because so many of us have experienced first hand the horrible policies of the watchtower on abuse.
i feel like these documents are finally the smoking gun we have all been hoping to expose the watchtower, and so far, the only mainstream news that i have seen pick it up is newsweek.. what will it take for the mainstream media pick this up and give it the attention it deserves?
I'm not so sure that compared to the rest of religions, compared to the rest of things happening that are news on politics, sports and natural disasters, and considering that people care more about who wore what dress at some kind of award ceremony than about children being sexually abused, I doubt that it's going to happen soon.
I would love to be proven wrong.
