I'm not surprised. They do that all the time. The funeral home is just a different location. I feel bad for the loved ones of their deceased.

Digital Billboards and Anti Witnessing.
by SnakesInTheTower injust thinking out loud here.
i drive a lot of miles for my job in the st. louis, missouri area.
digital billboards popping up.

I think most people wouldn't pay much attention to it all. Might be worth a punt but I'm not convinced.
I think people outside the WT couldn't care less, which means, the billboards will be catering specifically people who have interest in the WT, who may or may not pass by them and read it for a few seconds.
And then the message written has to speak to them, and it's a well known fact that many people join the WT (and everything else for that matter) join for many different reasons. What exactly will it have to say? Additionally, there are many JWs who can't even articulate some of their teachings, leave alone use what they read outside about it. So the billboard may have to:
- Be located where/when a specific group of people can see it
- Catch their attention
- Be about something they understand or care to learn more from an outside source
- Be about something that speaks to their own specific situation
Doesn't sound to me like a venture worthy of time and money.

Thoughts?
I don't need to preach and save anyone from anything. I can't care less what the WT does or say, what they preach, none of that. Those are the reasons why I left. Why on Earth would I want to continue my relationship with them?
Use the time and money in catching up with your retirement.

Pondering the real numbers
by Deltawave ini was sat in the assembly hall yesterday, wondering how many pimo ones like me there was there.
or even if they don't know ttatt still don't believe it for whatever reason.. i think there must be more of (us) there than we all realise.
i mean, brothers reaching out is at an all time low, information via the internet is at an all time high and the preaching work has now become a motionless, speechless babysitting of a book shelf advertising a website as someone here pointed out!.

I don’t know...my husband gets up frequently, leaves the building even, BUT is a true WT believer. He probably listens to about an hour combined of the assembly day and I think that’s precisely why he hasn’t woken up.
That you know of.

Memorial Invitations - Part 2
by The Fall Guy injust had 2 jw's from my local kh ring my doorbell and then put the invitation through my letterbox.
absolutely no desire to talk to local jw's who know me, so i declined to answer the door.. on the subject of the invite, the very first sentence deceptively says - "on the night before he died, jesus told his followers to commemorate his death.
he said, keep doing this in remembrance of me.".

Interesting that what I suggested in your part one didn't seem to be a welcome thought, yet that's exactly what you did.
Go figure.

No, they are assholes. Learn to socialize 101: You are perfectly fine in the way you are, talk and do things. Don't fall in the trap of growing insecure because of feeling not accepted socially. Those two bitches are big fat nobodies. Move on.
