I couldn't watch the whole thing, but I get the point. Yes, that video brings some of my most sad memories. And to think that once upon a time that's how I myself was featured many times.

The "Jesus is Michael" teaching soon to go?
by Island Man incould the teaching that jesus is michael the archangel, be soon to be discarded?
first of all, watchtower is big on image and this is one of those teachings that paint the jw religion as being rather kooky and heretical.
secondly, this teaching is not an original watchtower teaching but one they inherited from their second adventist ancestry.

Because Of The BORG:
by HiddlesWife inmany of the women and men have not achieved the life title or status plus goals she/he/they may have tried to achieve or embark on.
for example: (a) some women are only spiritual sisters.
they may have worked on to become a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, etc.

Which is why it is called a high demand, controlling group. I completely agree. The saddest thing to see is all those people wasting their entire lives preparing for the paradise that they may or may not get. It is a very horrible reality to accept after leaving, and it's the reason why some remain instead of admitting how much time and life they have wasted.

Paranoid why the coordinator's wife is soft shunning me
by Isambard Crater infor the past six months the coordinator's wife has definitely been avoiding me, turning her back or walking away when i walk in her direction, giving me a stare at other times.
if i try to make casual conversation with her, she literally walks away or just looks through me until someone else comes to talk to her.. i can only think of one reason, which is that she may have seen me give a car ride to a disfellowshipped person months ago.
i mean, it would be totally random if she happened to spot me on this one short journey, but it's possible.

I can only think of one reason, which is that she may have seen me give a car ride to a disfellowshipped person months ago.
I can think of many other reasons:
1. She's a bitch.
2. She believes in, and/or likes starting gossip. She may feel entitled to treat you that way based on all kinds of bad information as a result of filthy gossip.
3. She's jealous of you and/or your position. As the wife of the coordinator, she feels entitled to be a leader among other women, and therefore she may feel like she's entitled to have authority over other people in the congregation.
4. She's jealous of you and/or your position. As the wife of the coordinator, she feels trapped in her position, having to be completely submissive and be an example in the congregation, an resents that you don't have to put up with that nonsense.
5. She did see you with a disfellowshipped person and she's actually trying to do what JWs are told to do.
6. She's a social predator and feels pleasure out of seeing other people suffer.
Either way, do you need her in your life? Do you have to interact with her? Do you think that you need her approval? Do you think that she has any power over you?
If you are depressed, I understand that you may be extra sensitive to this type of treatment. It's uncalled and you don't deserve that kind of treatment for and it's difficult to deal with shit like her while you're dealing with depression.
Keep reminding yourself that you are in fact in a much better position than, even if she herself is PIMO. You don't have to deal with the pressure of having a husband who has a position in the congregation. She has to be submissive, an example to the congregation, and anything she will do will affect her husband's standing in the congregation, which she has to hate with passion.
Ignore her, avoid her, but most importantly, remember that you want her and shit like her out of your life anyway.

My guess is that they like the publicity. They say nothing, and will say nothing until that ridiculous claims stops serving their purpose. They are resolve to do anything about anything only and solely when it is in their best interest.

A big question, why writtings or book?
by Crazyguy inwe often have debates on this site about what was written in the bible and why.
there are also debates about which bible is better .
then there's the debate about if the quran is really the better book or more accurate.

By putting gods words in writing does it not allow for men who can read to monipulate those that can not? So again why would god put his thoughts and wishes in a book?
For years, in fact, since I started my fade way back when, the very first thing that I questioned was the entire concept of the bible. As a JW I never understood why a god that is so capable of doing so many spectacular things would do that at the time when mankind was the most naive about the world around it.
Not only I used to question why writing a bible, but also why then and not now? And why the way the bible god used to communicate doesn't do it the same way today? Any tweet today is way more effective than any bible verse. Then that book was written in languages that were extremely limited, based on the rather naive interpretations of the world that humans had back then, and then, like that's not enough, it gets written in the form of visions, parables, symbolisms, dreams and prophecies.
The entire concept of the bible makes absolutely no sense, especially if it's true that it contains a message intended to save the most people possible. The whole thing is just ludicrous.

So, would we call the GB our Uncles, Aunts, Sisters or Cousins???
by stuckinarut2 inok, so try and follow me here.... according to jw doctrinal teachings, the gb are "christ's brothers".
humans are all "god's children".
so does that make the gb our "uncles"?.

I don't call them anything, they have no relevance in my life at all.

opportunity for fornication

That was my favorite rule. I loved it. I wasn't allowed to hang out alone with any sister, but it was ok to spend as much time with the brothers. For a gay man that arrangement cannot be better.
Seriously, they are so stupid and hung up on their ridiculous homophobic ways of thinking, that they pretend that those rule are supposed to keep people from doing anything they want to do. Those rules around people and sex ar just absurd. They are super simplistic, irrelevant, stupid, and trust me, they never stopped any JW I knew from doing whatever or whoever.

Suing The Watchtower Corporation For Pain And Suffering Caused By Clandestine Trial Of Corporatly Biased Impartial Judges (A RealĀ Ordeal)
by Brokeback Watchtower ini mean they routinely question the "invited" guest of dishonor to their proceedings: if they have any prohibited recording devices and won't allow any witnesses to be present.
this is cruelly horrible treatment of a human being,, i say this can be a slam dunk in the courts.
maybe not millions but definitely some nice returns for the person and his lawyer.

This is cruelly horrible treatment of a human being...
And yet many people think that having religious legal exceptions is ok simply because they can discriminate against any people that they don't like, without looking at what that really does.
