-My 9 Part Podcast This JW Life & Something For Tomorrow-
by dubstepped infor those that don't know, i recently did a podcast series called this jw life outlining my life before, during, and after the cult.
i made it with outsiders in mind so that anyone could understand what life as one of jehovah's witnesses is like and what it does to people.
i posted about it as each episode came out, but i know that new people will see this and hope that it might help more people as time goes by, so i will post about it every so often to reach out to those that can find help processing their lives or that want to help outsiders to understand what it was like in one cohesive story.. tomorrow i will release episode 2 of my new podcast called “shunned”.

Does JW Org Have Goons Like Scientology?
by Counter-Watchtower ini guess this would be a good question to ask.
does jw org have goons they send after ppl to threaten them?
or to inflict violence on?

Does JW Org Have Goons Like Scientology?
No. They have goons like the JW Org.
Counter-Watchtower, again, you seem to keep trying to use only reasoning and logic to answer the questions that you pose. Look at the bigger picture.

Can you sue a False Prophet
by maccauk inits a serious question but we all know that thousands even millions have been misled, brainwashed or deluded into thinking the end of the world is coming by false teachers and prophets.
many people gave up family, careers, time, enjoyment of life etc etc only to be disappointed time and time again.they are responsible for pain, suffering, and manipulation.
this goes to many denominations.

"What is masturbation" was the question I kept asking my siblings and parents about after a Sunday meeting when I picked up my very own blue hardcover version of the Young People Ask book.
For some bizarre reason I was asking what is menstruation.
Akid48, if you remember some of your previous posts, I did mention how inappropriate for children those meetings are. Make no mistake, the WT cannot care less about children and their well being. They just don't.

I'm starting a Counter-Watchtower magazine
by Counter-Watchtower inim starting a counter-watchtower magazine for everyone to give to their jw friends and family or just to give to those that come to your door.
the first issue is about the history of pyramidology of c.t.
russel and under the start of rutherford along with some other things like pointing out the fact that no one knows the translators of the nwt or writers of the watchtower, "the two very things relied on to teach you".. its writen in such a way to be very repectful but to make the reader think, and hopefully the light come on.

That idea is a complete waste of time, if you ask me. -

Do JWs wonder why never converted someone that knows the Bible?
by Counter-Watchtower inmy experience with jws that came to my house started me on a journey of learning the truth about "jehovah's organization".
it didnt take long for me to stump them with bible questions that show what jw org teaches is not biblically accurate.
i hope when i lay on them 6 pages of their history (which will later be a counter-watchtower magazine) the light will come on when they read about pyramids and see photos.

The question is do they ever wonder why they have never converted someone that really knows the Bible? That can quote scripture, that knows when then they use a verse that its out of context? Everytime they come over I leave them stumped with questions, why do they keep coming back? Is it because i came to a Wednesday service one night?
That's not accurate. Not a more common occurrence, but yes, I have known of people who know the bible and even have studied theology in college, and still became JWs.
Aside from what Wake Me Up stated, there are many other things to consider. Some people can go studying and discussing the Bible ad-nauseam, but they do not see the entire picture if they don't look closer to the real reason why people join the JWs, religion in general, or any groups for that matter. Most people don't join to learn something. Some people have been JWs for decades and still to this day can't articulate some of the things that they WT teaches based on their Bible. The reasons why people join have to do with what they feel, what's in it for them, not for learning about some mysterious Bible passage that has a lot of exotic meaning.
You are being too narrow in your assertions and questions. Aside from the Bible, look for reliable research that shed light about the real reasons why people join groups. That may give you a bigger/better picture.

when I read the newspapers, such as regarding gay marriages, raising kids genetically neutral, it just pop up in my mind that we are living in the last days.
That's your real issue, not the WT nonsense.
Then there is the case of a gay couple suing a bakery for refusing to bake a cake for their wedding. They have the right to be gay. But the bakery shop owner also have his right to refuse to do things that his religious belief forbid. The gay couple should just simply walk away and find another shop willing to make the cake for them...
Who are you to change the law to accommodate for other people trying to shove their so-called morals down other people's throats? What those bakers did was ILLEGAL (look it up, they lost the case), they are not entitled to discriminate. The nonsense that you are stating can go both ways. It's like me saying "They have the right to be bakers. But the gay couple also have their right to demand others to do things that their religious belief forbid. The bakers should just simply close their bakery and find another way of making a living..."
Go back to the congregation. Seems like you are happier there. If the JWs don't do it for you, there are plenty of homophobic, hateful, fear mongering, ignorance promoting churches that will perfectly suit you. Your fear has nothing to do with the JWs, but with your own ignorance. I'd suggest to educate yourself, but you don't seem interested in going that route, so go back to the congregation and act like an ostrich.
Obviously you don't want to accept life and the world for what it really is. Go join some little bubble of the church where you feel entitled to discriminate against anything and everything you don't like hearing about.
Maybe what they were engaging then is much more immoral than our times....
Yeah, keep telling that to yourself.

Writing a book on Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses - suggestions welcome
by truthseeker inso i finally decided to start writing a book on exiting jehovah's witnesses.
i've been meaning to do this for a very long time.
there are so many books out there and i don't want to repeat what everyone else has written.. although the book will include some basic history of jehovah's witnesses and the usual doctrinal flaws, it's core audience are those who are thinking about leaving, in the process of leaving or have already left.. the book will contain case studies of people who've left and made a success of their life.

The situations in your list look very simple and unidimentional. Stories stating only what you list sound over-told and flat. What would make your stories stand out? Also, how would you approach the audience that has been conditioned to dismiss information like that without thinking twice?
Also, I don't see any social content in it. Any of them divorcing, has a chronic disease, faces financial hardship, is submitted to domestic violence, faces moral/financial/emotional/access issues over an unwanted pregnancy... there aren't many details in your post, but the people you are writing for should see themselves or relate to their stories.
My two cents.

All Donations Received @ KH During Annual Meeting Must Be Sent To The Branch
by thedepressedsoul ini just got word that in all congregations where the annual meeting is being streamed, any donations received that day, even if put in the box for the local hall must be sent to the branch immediately.. there will be an announcement made before the program starts for this arrangement.
so the extra electric needed that day, heat/ac that the congregation has to pay for does not matter.
all money donated that day has to go to the branch..
