  i'm tyoing this up on my phone, so forgive me if i don't give all i do or spell anything correctly.

  today i saw in the local newspaper in skagit valley washington a local man was sentenced to prison for child pornography.

  at firat i wasn't i terested in the article until i saw the defendants name.

  they have settled a lot out of court with gagging orders both ways so we will never know how much was payed out there.but some have been made public.

  any ideas how much in total?.

  i started studying with witnesses about 21 months ago.

  started going to meetings in march 2017, went to the memorial and attended my first convention.

  i love it.

  I love studying and learning about Jehovah. I believe in him so much now, but I'm a trans woman, having GRS 12 years ago and starting hormones 20 years ago. The Congregation found out a week ago. Meeting with the Elders soon, but feel that I should leave and I just feel so sad now.
  

  Good luck. As sensitive and understanding as I'd like to be, I can assure you that they are going to give you some bullshit about homosexuality, probably citing some bible verse from I-forgot-where, and telling you that Jehovah will help you stay in your biological gender.

  When it comes to sexuality, the Wt's teachings are very archaic. They don't even get basic human sexuality right, leave alone gender identity or sexual orientation. Don't expect a lot of love from them in that regard.

  In the city where I live there are plenty of resources from transgender people and their spirituality. I think that aside from this forum, find some support group for trans women. That may give you at least some understanding from people who are also transgender and integrating healthy spirituality in their lives.

  BTW, they don't call it "GRS" anymore. The right term is "Gender Confirmation Surgery", not "Gender Reassignment Surgery".

  genesis says a lot about both pre-flood and post-flood giants.the really big nasty ones drowned in the flood but there were lots of others the israelites had to overcome including the king of basham with his 11 foot iron bed.people nowadays are much smaller and i think its due in part to us losing more and more of adams perfection.

  No. There never was a Noah's Ark.

  I believe the Sasqatch to be in this category. There is huge evidence of them living in the dense forests of North America.

  It always baffles me that people come to this forum asking that kind of questions.

  Since you asked, anyway, I'll answer anyway. There's not such thing as some Armageddon coming. I know that sometimes having over 1,000 TV channels one still can't find something good to watch, but in this case, I'd suggest to follow whatever pseudo-celebrity is in the news. That seems more relevant than waiting for Armageddon.

  i have been working on my study for more than a year and it will take me a few more months to prepare the drafts of the remaining chapters.. my investigations have shown me that people have held -- and continue to hold -- a range of expectations, explanations, and opinions concerning a future existence and how that was provided, how it will be attained, and what will be experienced.

  When said like this, it does sound harsh. I agree, and I also agree that some people do need hope, and explanation for what they fear, comfort, structure, a place to belong and a sense of community. Personally I always make a distinction between what a given religion teaches and what it does for their people. They can worship Mr. Potato Head for what I care, for as long as they bring some goodness to their people.

  The control of the masses is a separate effect. There are well intended, welcoming religious groups that look to serve their people, not exploit it. They may not be as visible, but they are. I've myself have come to learn that.

  Question: is there any reason why you seem to be studying mostly Judeo-Christian religions? I think that you may get a better sense of what religion in general serves to people if you expand the denominations (just curious, not criticizing).
