  Just a LOL at a radio religions pitch

  i put it under the jokes heading because it made me laugh.

  sometimes, i don't know why, but i listen to a religious station on the way home from work.

  maybe because i just want to roll my eyes over their version of religious interpretation as well as see that they all do the same as the wt.. anyway, this particular preacher was at the end of his program.

  Well, as people who have been JWs, it should be very familiar to us how you can manipulate facts to make people think what we wanted from them. The news don't lie, but they have way too much "framing" of them, making people biased towards what they interpret of them. They don't necessarily lie, but I find their ways of presenting them to be unethical.

  I use the same skills I acquired as a JW to separate facts from opinions.

  In USA, news have also become advertising. They show "news" about the new store that has a sale on some product. And that's supposed to be news.

  he had an accident several years ago with some power equipment.

  So?

  I think that there are ways of making your point without alluding to a person's disability or misfortune.

  Besides, I know of an elder with three testicles. They're even.

  has anyone found that since leaving the borg that their tastes have changed in what they find attractive in the opposite sex?

  beards, long hair, tattoo's, etc).

  i don't now if it's just my taste changing as i get older or if it's coz beards were frowned upon by the society that i find them attractive now and didn't when i was younger 😊.

  Joke aside, I celebrate holidays and pretty much everything I am invited to or everything I invite people to when I feel like celebrating. Having been raised a JW put me in a convenient position of not feeling pressured to celebrate when I don't feel like it. This year my Christmas was very mellow and involved close family only. Felt great. Some years I just check my email and go yo bed early. Some others I attend parties, and some years I throw a party.

  Wordpress started as a blogging platform and has grown into a content management system, where you can add features as/if your site grows. The basics of WP can be developed by yourself, and it's free, but it's a learning curve if you don't have knowledge of the basics.

  WIX is a company that helps you create simple websites (and more complex ones for a fee), and it's reliable. Look for what do you want to have in your site. Do you want a forum, galleries, are you going to be selling something? The responsible answer is always "depends", because it depends on what you want to do with your website.
