You introduced yourself as an activist and a feminist on your website. I find it a contradiction of your values to appear on a livestream with Lloyd Evans. I was a donor after his Things are Bad video came out. If you haven't, I strongly recommend that you watch that. It's so full of lies and manipulation it's difficult for me to watch again. He said he was a family man and it would be tragic if he had to let his wife go as an employee. It was emotionally charged language in order to manipulate people like me. Like her I am a single mom with two daughters. So it connected with me and I felt compelled to pledge monthly.

A friend on FB gave me a few links that were not available to me. I watched the livestream and a few rebuttal videos. I also read the letters he sent to his wife. Disgraceful and disgusting - I felt sick to my stomach that I was ever fooled into giving what little money I had to that man ! After I wrote a blog article about dropping as a patron to Lloyd, the wife of a prominent activist who was once Lloyd's right hand reached out to me. Both her and her husband have met Lloyd and family several times. She told me Lloyd reacted the way he did by calling me an "uber-judgmental x JW who still holds a JW Mindset" was because I was a woman who called him out. I keep hearing the same thing from women who have worked with him. Jill Adams said the same thing to me on Twitter. She helped set up the meetup in 2021 that he cancelled in order to go to Thailand. He lied to her about it and said it was because he was exposed to COVID. She lost the deposit she had placed on the venue. No refunds. Lloyd did not offer to compensate her. My question to you is how, as a feminist, do you sit down with a misogynistic and abusive man who disrespects women and allow yourself to be used as propaganda?

Kim Silvio made the correct decision and continues to - bring people to factual information about Lloyd. You did not. You have betrayed yourself and your values. This wasn’t a video about beards. This is the one subject Lloyd does not belong anywhere near : CSA ! In doing so you have fallen for what seems to be one of Lloyd’s classic manipulations- i.e. “ignore all the other stuff, I am fighting WT”. This is a real betrayal of the values you claim to hold, and anyone especially with daughters would not want anything to do with that creep ! Think of how shitty he treated his wife ! It’s due to people like you that this thread continues to be a thing because every single time it looks like he’s leaving X JW activism for something else he comes right back. You are what Kim would have been had she ignored everything that was wrong about Lloyd and reasoned the fight against WT was more "important". You are being like the elder's wives in the Kingdom Hall - we don't want to bring reproach upon Jehovah ! The brothers are doing such great work and they are not perfect !

Be smarter than this. Don’t leave your own sense of values and decency on the altar of taking down this religion. It's not worth it. Don't call yourself a feminist and collaborate with the author of those letters to his wife. Please read them.

Okay I'll weigh in on this shroom biz. That video is so irresponsible! He says on a video last year these two things : I am a good man and a father !

Then act like one! After saying that he said he was afraid his daughters would see all this information about him that would impact their opinions of him in a negative fashion. What does he expect to happen when they see their father advocating for all mental health sufferers to take shrooms? What if one of them felt they suffered from depression being in a broken family? What if they hiked in the Croatian forest and picked poisonous mushrooms and hoped to be like daddy? Kids are like this! I am a mother of two and you don't want your kids to hear anything like this! Think! Parenting is more than seeing them on the weekend and buying toys. Girl, keep a close eye on your girls, they have a moron as a father.

I was forced on anti-depressants and anti-psychotics when I was in my early teens. I had a meltdown due to the pressures placed upon me in the org. The issue wasn't looked at holistically. Very well I know the effects of depression meds, and yes the one he was talking about too. Never take this lightly and you need to taper off under medical advice, not gloat about getting excited that you are going overseas to trip on illegal substances. He could have had a seizure or something worse. He wants to do that fine but don't tell the world about it. Some things keep to yourself but not him.

I don't see any use to have this man around anymore. Two videos a month and paid for it. He tells over half the world population who have mental health issues if would be a shame if they did not try shrooms! He has incredibly poor judgment in making this video and saying the things he did.

the elders are handling the microphones and there was only one comment from zoom at the watchtower.

Our cong. had an attendance problem esp. after COVID. People seemed emboldened by the new normal that was out there and it seemed only the stricter families went. Yes that was ours! Yay!

My Book of Kingdom Hall Stories (Part One and Two)

i have a few thoughts i would like to articulate as part of my blogging hobby and not least, my mental health in making sense of this crazy life inside the jws.

i will summarize as best i can for the more casual reader.. when i was 14, i was in a poor state of mental health and shipped off to my not-as-zealous jw aunt and uncle's home for the summer.

I have a few thoughts I would like to articulate as part of my blogging hobby and not least, my mental health in making sense of this crazy life inside the JWs. The link to the blog is below. I will summarize as best I can for the more casual reader.

When I was 14, I was in a poor state of mental health and shipped off to my not-as-zealous JW aunt and uncle's home for the summer. My cousin is my age and to this day, my only JW relative who was also a close friend. It started off well by staying up late, getting away with things my parents wouldn't let me get away with. I make friends easily and this well-off family with a nice swimming pool had us over often. My cousin was friends with their daughter, the same age as we were, and I also became close with her.

It was through them that I met the pedophile elder in Part One, and his a$$hole brother-in-law I write about in Part Two. This elder already had a thing for younger women and his bride-to-be (at that time still underage) was at this particular gathering. Show-off that he was, he had to be the one with the new Playstation. It was only a ruse and as we all were to discover later, he had been molesting this family's youngest daughter.

To make a long story short, this elder was disfellowhipped after the second witness came forward (her sister), but due to the accuser's own disfellowshipping, her story is denied by many to this day. The reason this comes to mind now is that I have heard that this pedo elder has been disfellowshipped yet again for marital infidelities, though not CSA this time. Part two is about his brother-in-law, who was and is an abusive and racist a$$hat. He had names for everyone (including me!) and as a Minsterial servant, had the "privilege" of running the sound system. He'd use his own snarky words to call this one brother an ape from the platform.

I conflate these two stories because they came out of one summer far away from home and it showed how the same boys club type of atmosphere covers up, tolerates and even encourages abusive men. Since I am going through a divorce with such a man, I'm more wired in to noticing things like this now that I am putting an end to it.

But that's not how Watchtower saw it. Because I was Divorced not by Watchtower terms, I was not free to remarry. That's alot of bull.

Though I am not in this situation, I am hearing a lot about this now that I am out and it seems to be quite a problem. They are using old Hebrew law for a modern time period. Divorce isn't a good thing and a high divorce rate is a sign of societal problems, but it shouldn't be "at fault" either. Some people are just not meant for each other or people change and grow out of relationships. Keeping people in this state only serves to hurt people more. In my case I just couldn't live with him and his lies anymore. We could have just lived separately but he'd never support his own children.

I do too! One can hope but there is also the reality. I haven't gotten my ex's response yet in court, so that will probably be something that will tell us where this is headed. I'm keeping my demands reasonable and not demanding the world. My lawyer warned me about that and not look like I am trying to punish him because judges do pick up on those kinds of things.

Do they allow that? I was under the impression that remarriage is only okay if adultery has been proven.

In a previous blog, I related my husband's infidelities. So I am guessing he'll be scripturally free to remarry once this is sorted out since he's the adulterer. According to him he's going through the judicial process with the brothers. But his father is an elder so expect a slap on the wrist. Probably will lose his privileges for awhile. Who knows how it works. Works for them, most certainly not us.

Maybe a disfellowshiping is in order, but just a brief one to make it seem like there are no double standards.
