someone recently posted a link to the mp3 song: "joanie, the jehovah witness stripper.".
while trying to find out who performs that song, look what i found: the story of "amethyst the (former) jehovah witness stripper".
i found that the song "joanie the jehovah's witness stripper" was by an artist named "paul thorn", his website is http://www.paulthorn.com/.

2002-2003 zealous kingdom proclaimers
district convention of jehovah's witnesses.
friday.
I may be slow, but, it's a joke, right? That's not the real convention program, is it?
for jws, persecution is a self-fulfilling prophecy because of their behavior.. if they were to make three basic changes they could easily become mainstream.. 1. get rid of their shunning practices.. 2. allow open discussion that questions wt teachings and policies.. 3. allow members to openly believe things contrary to the wt teachings without fear of retribution from the organization, or the individual members.. they are so hung up on protecting the flock and the phrase a house divided cannot stand.
they have failed to realize to power of the individual and the fact that people with different beliefs and thoughts can work together for a common goal.. as i see it, these things cannot happen because of the nature of most of its members.
the wts is appealing to and full of people that are searching for absolute biblical truth - black and white thinking.
Elsewhere,
I think you hit the mark exactly. This is what they need to do to survive. Problem is, I don't think they will. They still have too many odd beliefs, i.e. the blood ban. These odd beliefs can't withstand the dialogue, and the gb then would be made to look like fools at best. They are going to have a difficult time transitioning into this century.
in particular the belief that the soul does die at death, (its not eternally tormented) belief in a paradise hope and other similar doctrines of the wts.. i'm curious as to just how unique the wts is.
they claim to be the only ones with their particular set of beliefs but its something that i never really researched all the years that i've been a jw.
I remember hearing something about a Jim Jones that had a group in, I think, Central America or something. They are very similar, but I haven't heard anything about them in a long time.
the topic title sounds terrible, i know, but why mince words?.
in our local congregation rumor has it, in a conversation amongst a group of friends at a restaurant the other night, that the elders in a congregation in our district recently offered counsel to someone who practiced a very unsettling habit during meetings.
the sister used the words "flipping snot" to describe it.. you can well imagine the groans and loud exclamations of disgust at that dinner table upon hearing this unbelievable tale!
I firmly support the witnesses effort to eliminate nose picking in their meetings. I don't won't to be personally involved, but morally, I'm behind them on this one.

we call the wt the "borg" & their followers "dubs" etc., these are describtive words that (we) have given them.. my question is this: why do we refer to ourselves as "apostates"?
this is their (derogatory) name for us.. what can we call ourselves, how bout "liberators"?
, this is difficult.
I consider myself an apostate by the jdub definition. I understand what they are saying, I just don't believe it.

I think most of us knew her as something else.
hi, i'm a new member and i am trying to find people that i might know, or have something in common with.
if you are from canada, tell me from where....it would be funny to find someone i know or who has been to the same assemblies as me.
by the way, im disfellowshipped, in case anyone was wondering.
I am from Texas. Howerver, due to the importance in my life of Hockey Night in Canada, I state forthrightly that I, too, stand on guard for Canada. Just let me know when you need me.
