Some of the older posters here will be thinking "three days? Sissy stuff! In the old days we had 40 day conventions that started at five O'Clock in the morning, and finished at midnight! And we were beaten by the attendants with a stick if we were late - ahhh, happy days!"

The particular part that stuck out in the program to me is on Friday afternoon at 4pm.

If they applied what they learned, they would not be there in the first place.

Also of note is Sunday morning at 10:40.

What more proof do you need that they replace Christ with an organization of men? What further evidence is required that they are DESPERATE to retain the flailing amounts of youth they DO have in their members? Truly pathetic if you ask me.

I am almost certain a few years back there was a talk on the assembly program of the exact same title. Cult buzz words abound.

They have to keep the R&F in a frenzy, and commence with the gloom&doom, or nothing they attempt as far as placing literature and amassing revenue would be accomplished.

It is not religious persecution for an informed person to expose publicly a certain religion as being false, thus allowing persons to see the difference between false religion and true religion.

Valis, Speaking as someone who has donned tights and the living room curtains out on the sports field, indeed the one drama is very dissapointing!

You had attendants who had sticks? You were lucky. We had Nazi storm troopers who'd stuff old carpet down our throats with toilet plungers. Then they'd cut us into 4 parts with rusty saws and feed us to the pigeons. And the assemblies lasted 36 hours a day and we had to do 48 hours of street witnessing every day before the sessions started outside Bolton Wanderer's football stadium in the rain.

Aye, them we'rt days - wouldn't trade 'em for nowt - well, 'appen for one of them soggy tomato sarnies the sisters used to serve up on trestle tables while we queued up to get our heads sawn off for talking during the program.

Herbert, that was Luxury!!

We had no cars, we had to walk to the sessions at Twickenham every morning through the snow in our bare feet, we couldn't afford shoes. Our only sustininence was Seranata bars, bacon baps & cheap panda cola. Then we were beaten senseless by our district overseer and forced to do 60 hour shifts in the doughnut tent.

48 hours of street witnessing everyday, huh? Attending in the rain. Man... I’m getting all misty-eyed with the memory. Folks these days have it way too easy, what with a/c and all. Still, I can’t wait for this year’s Spiritual Banquet™.

Jehover is good, eh?
