WTS Rich or Hurting for $$$

seen a few discussions asking if the wts are hurting for $$ or still sitting on a mountain of gold.. regardless of their child abuse legal fees and ongoing broadcasting for more dough, i believe they have piles and piles of cash.. talked with a diff'd accountant who sat in the accounting dept.

at the conventions for years.. a football stadium (or the like) costs them about $70 - 90,000 to rent for a 3 day dub show.

they take in $400,000 in donations from the r&f.

I don't think the sell-offs have anything to do with potential costs of lawsuits from Pedo cases - Were all the pedo cases to be revealed in one glorious moment of Apocalysis and All the victims commenced legal proceedings at the same time ...................no ...its not the case...imho !

But membership fall-off could be a factor.

I had reason to discuss the construction programme taking place at the South African Bethel - just this morning with someone [South Africa - where I am located] And this Bethel is now a major campus - it seems to be going balls to the wall there!

Otherwise the GB are just highly deluded and convinced of the imminence of the Big-BuggerUp ....or there is some strange "Third Force" factor at play ????

i seldom feel depressed, but i did yesterday.

possibly, its because i'm likely going to graduate next year and i feel somewhat lost.

the goal i've had for the last 8 years to improve my understanding of the china-asia nexus, will have been accomplished.

I agree with LisaRose - What you have been through is merely a Wintery period of life .........After Winter comes Spring ........regardless of our age ! I was taught this valuable lesson by a Buddhist at a time when I was trapped in a severe depression [30 months] in 2010 ! She was right - I am now in the Summer /

An old Kingdom hall now a church?

i remember an ex jw from ohio taking video of a former kingdom hall that is now a church.

apparently the society sold it to the church.

In South Africa the JW sold their original compound located in the city of Germiston to the South African Defence Force ! It was subsequently resold etc etc

Why cant Judicial Committees be taped?

i have never understood this.

was it because of legal reasons?

i cant think of any other reason why it wouldn't be allowed, but i know the elders ask you repeatedly that you are not taping.

Don't touch ark of covenant

i raised an issue with a co once about an elders qualifications, he visited my house and in no uncertain terms said don't touch ark of covenant ( referring to elder as ark ) , i was gob smacked then he said to wife and i that if we pursued such an avenue we could be grieving gods holy spirit.

so ther you go elder are on par with god ..

september 27, 2016 to all bodies of elders re: recommending convention speakers and interpreters.

september 28, 2016 to all bodies of elders having bethel brothers in their congregation re: convention speaker ratings for bethel brothers.

s-315-e 9/16 speaker and interpreter ratings.

freddo The ones I took part it in seems to be superceded by this arrangement ?/- I have not been in the Borgian loop since 2010 - not sure - the docs look the same-ish ! But it went on forever this meeting. Also I did not handle the forms as CO had them in his hands.

It can be a way to put the knife into elders you don't like or are jealous of regarding "speaking prowess".

Then too we were reminded to look at the bro's who were more "charismatic" in their speaking style.

Other factors that were looked at were: Does he have his family in subjection ...............otherwise don't recommend him for talks / demo's related to family/

Been waiting for this for some time ! Well done posting this.

This existence of this rating system is not well know even amongst elders.

I was "privileged' to take part in 4 of these ratings sessions with the CO over the years - it took about 4 hours+

Every elder in a circuit is discussed and scrutinised as to his eligibility to give talks / take part on RC program parts etc etc

Thereafter your are given a rating D / C / B / B+ / A

In all of the sessions I was involved in only 1 person ever had an A rating and that was the late Jim Hamilton who was a former CO in the UK if I am correct.
