  Dear Jehovah,

  Just dropping you a line to say I and my children are dead. I put my abusive husband in the SFJTD* box about a year ago.....hopefully you'll get to it before the neighbours notice the smell.....

  *SFJTD stands for Something For Jesus To Do (for those who don t know).

  currently reading: apostles of denial by edmund c gruss.

  the book presents the history, doctrines and claims of jws clearly,accurately.it examines these in the light of the bible, in the light of sound exegesis of the original languages in which the bible was written and with best scholarship o the subject.. although this was written in 1970 , its author was a exjw, so i find it intriguing to see the jw world of that time from someone who witnessed and experienced it all.. hooked from line one itself, remains to be seen if it will deliver to the end but so far so good.

  has anyone read it ?

  "The present study is important coz this movement is one of denial, making converts, causing them to come under the condemnation of jesus spoken to the most zealous group of his day: matthew 23:15 woe to you , scribes an pharisees, hypocrites! For ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is become so , ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves!

  ..........Then the doctrines of this group are studied both in summary and by direct quotations from the publications of the WBTS.Their major doctrines are examined in the light of scripture, church history, sound biblical exposition, and the Witnesses own text books.

  Next, since the NWT is being hailed by the witnesses as their authority in doctrine , there is a section which examines and evaluates the work from the original languages and from the standpoint of accepted scholars.   All in all I can say I find it true to their research, study and findings.I am enjoying reading it.

  I always take life with a grain of salt. Plus, a slice of lemon. And a shot of tequila.

  the victim finds final solace in pioneering,

  In my personal experience,hardly any solace buddy!

  I was a pioneer, so went round like a zombie talking to myself and crying my eyes out.Then knocking on a feww doors,stopping coz found it difficult to carry on ,then crying again. No Jokovah really did not do anything for me nor my so called spiritual bros n sisters,sadly.

  Did pioneering truly make "all problems insignificant?"

  No way,it was always there just pushed aside to make room for pioneering /getting your hours in.Once thats over, your grief, sadness,depression, disappointment,hopelessness comes to the forefront coz that was the reality . Not the FOG I was living in!

  "The God Of All Comfort" is still a fairy tale phrase to me coz I experienced no such thing !
