  JW opposer conversation stoppers

  for some reason on my way to the meeting last night i was thinking what if there was a reasoning book for talking with jws.

  in particular a section with rebuttals for common jw thinking.

  jesus disciple's made false predictions too.. jehovah has always used an organization.. the light keeps getting brighter.. who else is doing the work that we are?.

  Nobody that I can see. Of course, who else is doing the work that the mormon's are doing? Nobody but them right? By the way, maybe YOU could tell just who is buried in Grant's tomb. I would really like to know.

  quoted below is the testimony of an ex-jw (one of the posters here) who faced the draft in the '60s.

  notice the form of "alternative service" that he would've been required to do had he been drafted.

  not civilian, but as one who would work in a military hospital ... which would be aiding the war effort -- a breach of one's neutrality.. .

  I've got to admit one thing about this guy Yadirf. He sure knows how to talk his way around a subject's issues. Man, he should go into comedy. It's fun to watch him cut people down to size with tissue-paper scissors.

  it would seem to me that an organization that preaches so strongly about brotherly love could be so prejudice.. i have been d/f for just about seven years, and it wasn't until a couple of years ago that this occured to me.

  remember how we couldn't spend time with people from school because they were "bad association"?

  or you werent supposed to spend too much time with "worldly" relatives because they might be a bad influence?.

  I have been 'shunned' before, while never having been one of their fold.

  I think some of them thrive on the prejudice they are 'permitted' to display. I guess it feeds their badly bruised egos.

  I love to remind them how 'loving' they are. You can tell that it urks them to have an outsider that knows many of their 'tricks'

  What does your ID or Nick say about you?

  someone replied to a post i entered and got me thinking what others perceive about us due to the nicks or id we have chosen.

  some of the nicks i am sure are just self explanatory , others are cute, or simple.

  although i suspect that very many in this room,took time to think of theirs and definitly the nick holds some little secret as to who they are as a person.

  Are Jw's the only ones with apostates....

  who viciously attack the teachings and beliefs of their resigned religion?.

  i was thinking of this last night....i have never in my life seen a movement so big as the apostates against jw's..... no other religion has displayed this....usually people just quietly leave and get on with their lives and there is no anomosity...even if they have been wronged by their religion.... but with jw's it's different...it's an all out and out attack on anyone and everyone who has something positive to say.... makes me believe the bible and the jw's even more...being here is setting the doubt in my mind right....

  It's a nice try but I doubt you will get a sincere conversation out of Vio now. She's got the 'us vs. them' that many on this board manifest against the society, only now for the society's position once again. At least the folks here tried to help her. Now she's an infected T-cell. Nothing can be done until she decides to rid herself of the virus.
