Does that mean you didn't like my question?
this idea of mine, which i quote below, i think is sound.
i still stick to it because i think that it clears up a lot of confusion regarding *the two trees* and their purposes for being in the garden of eden: .
aside from the variety of other trees which jehovah provided for the daily needs of the first human pair, god had placed two especially necessary trees in the "middle of the garden.

i had a conversation with an active witness from the usa lately.
and when talking about child upbringing he stated that some children need a spank sometimes.
of course i was upset because of that, and i didn't thought witnesses was that stupid.
mevirginia: I hate to say it, but you really are a bi$%h. You never apologized for insinuating that Nowhere had mental issues merely because he disagreed with your opinion. Instead, you denied the irrefutable

You never apologized. You are the one who made all the innuendos not I.
You are the one who has been doing all the lying and side stepping and twisting and projecting yourself onto me.
You need to apologize. Just swallow you ego for a moment and do it. If not leave me alone with your abusiveness.
I do not particularly care for really abusive people, I have had quite enough of that to last a life time thank you anyway.
so I will be ignoring you from now on.
.
when i was in my congregation i found it to be a very selfish self spirited congregation,i also found many witnesses to be very easily offended and hyper sensitive oh and i forgot the gossip ohh the gossip was horrendous, this hyper sensitivity really got on my nerves because it was starting to rub off on me and i started to get paranoid and easily offended and i was never like that b4.. and what pi@@ed me off was the fact how brothers on the stage said how loving our congregation was and what a good reputation it was known to have.. but now i have left and im back to my down to earth happy personality.

The majority of the people were really nice folks, whether it was because they were mainly low income types I don't know, but they were good people.
Interesting. I don't know if there is anything to that or not, but
I did notice that most of the problems in the congs I attended (snobbery,gossip,slander,etc...) came from the so-called wealthy ones.
Luckily most of the members were not wealthy so there were a lot of nice people. I did however know 2 who were wealthy AND nice.
how do witnesses view aa meetings and aca meetings?
are they ok with the 12 steps?
the reason i am asking is because i think it might be beneficial for my jw-wife to attend some aca meetings but i'm unsure of how "anti-aa" the witnesses are.. also, if anyone care to make any comments re aca meetings, i'm all ears.
LOL.. Not to be insensitive as alcoholism is a serious problem, but I find that funny as hell!
Thats OK Rick, she is able to look back on it and laugh now herself. This was several years ago now. Ofcourse at the time it wasn't very funny. We had to treat her like she was a teen ager and she was in her thirties with three kids.

KH and elders can be very different. If your wife attends a KH where the PO is more open then it may not even be a problem. The KH I attended the PO would probably advise and then butt out. Other POs might be complete arses about it.
Like AA the same goes.
Good and Bad ones exist. It would not be wise to think otherwise.
Keep in mind they are like any other organization when it comes to quality. Don't be afraid to shop around even if it means going farther outside your own community. That is what a friend of mine had to do before things began to improve in her life. Her first experience with AA was the worst place she could have ended up. However after a few tragedies accrued and loosing custody of her children she finally got serious, acquired a recommendation to a much better AA outside of her community and things improved a great deal.
Again Best wishes.
my jw sister and i are on good terms, and i talk to her on a regular basis.
on the other hand, i have a jw cousin who i hope never to talk to again.
i have only seen her once in 30 years and that was at my sister's daugher's wedding.
YES
There is a big difference between shunning someone for reasons you are aware of personally and for your own personal reasons apposed to shunning someone only because someone else instructed you to do so and the reasons however are none of your business.

Fickle apostrophes LOL they're discrete but not faithful. If theyre going to be like that, then who needs them anyway.
i'm considering trying hypnosis to help me win my everlasting battle with weight, but naturally i have feelings of guilt because we were told as jws that we cannot use hypnosis....... .
anyway, has anyone here ever tried hypnosis?
i would be interested in hearing if it helped you at all.
I'm considering trying hypnosis to help me win my everlasting battle with weight, but naturally I have feelings of guilt because we were told as JWs that we cannot use hypnosis.......
I have to laugh because I went through the same feelings for a long time. How ever I decided to try it and when I told my mother that I was all she had to say (I was stunned btw) was:
"Make sure someone is with you when you do" Don't know WHAT! some of these doctors my do while youre under"
HAhahaha.
Btw, I took some classes on self-hypnosis. I would imagine if you were to take several classes and really get into it, it would be very helpful.

But what about the corruption?
Throughout history people have been killed over such things as WATER RIGHTS.
Even if Adam and Eve passed that first test it has already been shown that they had the potential to fail. That would have been the whole point of the test in the first place. So, they would produce the same. More humans with those same potentials. The outcome would be inevitable. There would be prohibition on Trees of life OR government sanctions and allotments given to each person every month. There would still be massive corruption. IMO
oops
