I remember in 2007 a letter was read to the congregation that the library would be screened for non-jw and older jw books that would be removed.
Direct after the meeting I rushed to the library and saved the valuable books my family donated to it. I also saved a bible students birthday agenda daily havenly manna that was in the library. I still have it.

i had a legal divorce from my ex wife( law of the land).
i was told not to expect to get remarried because my divorce was not legal to watchtower.. my divorce and situation seem to be a talk of gossip and even a many local needs talks.
i wanted to take some more schooling to get a better job, there was a local needs talk on higher education and it's dangers.
Initial the 1995 generation change started my independed thinking.
Since 2008 faded under the radar, we moved to an other city, since then free.

Being part of a well respected jw family Gorby had no much problems. A litle bit the local jw royality.
When I woke up in 1995 because of the Generation change we lowered our activity and in 2008 we moved to another town and went under the radar. Quiet fade.
When I look back, I regret the days, hours and years that could be used better and wiser. Had some good memory's too.

i was raised as a jw and left the group as many of the teachings don’t align with my core values.
now, forward almost 10 years, my wife and i are raising our kids through puberty and i have to admit, this challenge is not easy and seems to be even more difficult in that my own upbringing was very different.
i find it hard to compare how i was raised with what i now must do for my own kids.
Same situation here. We have twins, 11 years old. How rational and smart/ wise children can be without Awake University!
My son brought up the point that everything has a start and ending and the jw standpoint of a God who was always there is absolute nonsens and wrong.
And so much more. I enjoy the arguments they have.

they want to keep the rank and file in a permanent dependent state.
