by BoogerMan inthe other day, i chatted to an elderly woman and her daughter who was about 45-50. total strangers.. we were discussing covid when the daughter said, "my neighbor studies with jw's, and the jw's told her 3 months before the virus started, that they had to stop going from door to door because something was coming.".
i've never heard anything like this before - have you?.

There was a time, we had 3 donation boxes in the local hall.
Local funds,
East European funds
World wilde work funds.
The boxes were very well designed, all on one footh.
So an elder said "don't forget to donate to the 3 headed monster".

I never understood how jw's handle their history.
When a witness dies, he or she is forgotten in a year.
When a local jw building is left no one cares.
If the HQ is sold for billions to Kushner, Trump and Reibling / Taurus (witness) no one cares.
A sect. All for the money.

"Jehovah God"
by Jeffro inthe expression "jehovah god" has always seemed strange to me.
even when i was a jw, i found the term awkward, and never used it myself.
both words are nouns intended to be synonyms of each other, unless the name "jehovah" is being used as an adjective, which is also weird.

The last years in the organisation I only used the prase "heavenly father" and "almighty father in heaven".
Of course I was more and more on the elders radar.
