  the upcoming governing body update, set to be released on friday this week, will feature a bearded samuel herd.. jwtalk website revealed the leak, so this thread will be used to speculate the content of the update and discuss the actual contents after its release..

  Retirement Planning for ex-JW's

  this is something i think about a lot, possibly because i'm just getting older.

  it seems that not only should i finally one day decide what i want to do with my life, but i should also be planning for retirement.. hands up everyone who feels their future has been royally screwed by the wts experience?.

  if you were a good jw and followed the wts advice you could well be finding yourself facing middle or even old age without much or anything put aside in retirement savings.

  Generation Alpha

  being generation x myself, with 2 teenagers in generation alpha, i see a lot difference between generations.. generation alpha has totaly different views.

  my first reaction at home about the current conflict between gaza and israel made this clear.. what an automatic reaction is for a generation x is a disaster for generation a.. result was my first shock about myself, generation x. do i see the global and local issues still clear?!?

  why became my teenagers so wise persons with a more balanced world view?

  The Kids are not initial choosing the side of Israël, like me (50+ white male western world generation of 1970).

  The Kids are thinking first before speaking out and don't like the hard way agains Gaza women end children.

  what motivates jws to engage in a debate with former jws?

  Who Was The Biggest Jackass Circuit Overseer You Ever Met?

  there was on older white-haired circuit overseer in houston around 1989 or 1990. last name started with a w i think.... not sure though.

  even the most brain-dead robotic elders told me he was offensive.

  my brother ( an elder ) calls me every time he's assigned a public talk.

  he believes listening to zoom meetings is a great start, to eventually attending in-person meetings.

  the talk is titled : '' reject worldly fantasies, pursue kingdom realities.

  One of the reliefs when we faded for good is the end of being confronted with all this nonsense. What a wast of energy it was. It made me feel between ship and wall.

  Now feeling better then ever. Whay a psychical abuse it was. What a fake wisdom in the sect.

  I'm still standing better then I ever did! Looking like a true surviver!

  i open a new topic, to find out how it's going in your area.

  from what i see as a southern european in my constituency the situation is patchy.. the congregation where i am now has 30% old people on zoom but also young couples with almost all their cameras off.

  no increase but a slight decrease in the total number of publishers.. circuit assemblies: before covid you couldn't find a free seat if you arrived 10 minutes before the start.

  The August 2024 Watchtower controversy and potential further changes

  as an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.

  perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.

  how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).

  @slimboyfat, agree. Addition:I see the same faces, no new recruits.

  And the last time, the memorial 2024, I saw only sad, tired and lame faces. All went as fast as possible going home when the garnering ended.

  No happy few, no heartly greetings this year.
