Did your witness family have a 'Thanksgiving' that wasn't on Thanksgiving?
by SydBarrett inmy family had several elders, ministerial servants, auxillary pioneers etc, so it certainly wasn't one of those 'barely in' families.
but in certain small ways, i think mine were slightly less hard line than some other families i've heard stories about over the years.
one example was the 'fall dinner'.

Here in Holland most jw's miss a meeting because of Kings-day.
Lot of organized activity.
We visited with many jw friends the Amsterdam city center for.a.whole day of festivals.
Was accepted in the hall,.even ms.and elders were missing at the meeting

by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.
the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.
i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.

@notformer, what I remember is that our JW group was not so emotional like jw's these times.
We were young, made fun and adventure. A flash and thunder more or less, we were not impressed.
Now many jw's are "full enthousiast" if something happens.

I remember the closing prayer of president Milton Henschell at the international convention in Moscow, 12 minutes.
During his speech that day there was a flash and thunder just when he read a bible text about thunder. Will never forget that.
Just like a higher power was playing with the event.

Here in Holland, you can vote on a whole pallet of party's, in total more then 30 different.
For EU, against EU, socialists, far right and center.
We have even a party for the farmers and a party for animals!!!
The 2 party system in the USA makes it difficult when ypu can't find yourself into the party line, seems to me.
The republicans would have my vote, but this time the democrats...
I'm realy attracted to Kamala. This white boy loves independent woman from color. She would be my favorite date 😊

Same for me. It took some years to become PoMo for me and for my wife. We moved to another city and became submarine witness first and later fuly PoMo.
Got a management position, and the corporation I work for gave me 2 University educations, so with aditional education had a study periode of 10 years.
And before you know it, you are a 30 years furter at the scale of time.
Better then ever and saved our children for watchtower abuse, our goal. So, after 4th generation our family has done away the sect influence.
