Jehovah allows you to ingest plants, but punishes if you smoke them. He's stupid.

Why Is Smoking A Disfellowshipping Offense?
by twain30 inthe main reason given in the 1973 watchtower was that smoking is tied in with spiritism because the greek word which is rendered as spiritism is pharmakia' which literally means "druggery," (see galatians 5:20.
) therefore the argument was made that by smoking we put ourselves under spiritistic or demonic control.
for the last 20 years i haven't heard this reason used.. today the reasons given are that smoking shows no respect for your body as well as for life and that smoking doesn't show love of neighbor.

Be that (whatever it actually is) as it may -- he'll always be able to spell for himself.

Should Christians wear sandals?
by dmouse ini came across this clip from an assembly where a co 'reasons' with the audience on whether christians should wear beards 'in this time of the end'.
while not containing any reasoning at all it could also be concluded from this clip that the wbts doesn't like you to wear sandals either.
oh, and jesus was a cross dresser.

DO YA MISS "THE SWEET FELLOWSHIP"?
by minimus inone of the major reasons that a disfellowshipped or disassociated person has for coming back to "jehovah's organization" is that perhaps they will miss the "sweet fellowship".
after hearing comments regarding the km article on how to treat disfellowshipped ones, i must wonder why anyone of sound mind would think a disfellowshipped person would miss anything from the organization.
viewing persons as "dead" while out of the organization would not make one feel anxious to return to jehovah's loving arrangement through the organization.whoever coined the term about missing "the sweet fellowship" was pretty clever.

Hell no. I hated my hall, and 98 percent of the people in it. The other 2, can be found on this board, posting away.

When did you realised that everything had changed?
by In_between_days inin life, there are certain pivotal moments when you realise that every thing has changed dramatically.
it's a breathtaking and overwhleming feeling.
you may think back to who you were on this day a year ago, compared to who you are now - the contrast is incredible.. i find change in viewpoints and thinking evolves slowly, over a long period of time, you dont know the change is taking place until one day, you realise for one stunning minute that you are everything that you never were.

Completely free of the Borg? Yes. Though sometimes, I still catch myself calling it 'the truth' when speaking in retrospect.
When did everything change? When I saw Jehovah blessing his creations in New York last year, Incidentally, the same day I decided I was an Athiest.
