  Earthquake in Victoria Australia

  i ,along with many other victorians in australia,experienced my first earthquake this morning about 9:15 am.. it was recorded as a 5.9 magnitude.and an after shock of 4.0 magnitude.. i was having a lay in bed due to the fact my wife had a bad night due to her health problems which affected my sleep as well.. and i thought geeeze she`s making a lot of racket coming up the passage to the bedroom with her walker and then the bed started shaking like crazy .

  i thought my computer`s going to hit the deck along with the printer as other things started to fall over.. our house sits on concrete stumps and the thought went through me that the house could collapse ,but thankfully there was no structural damage that i could find.. apparently it was felt far and wide covering most of victoria / nsw and even tasmania.. anybody else here had a similar experience ?.

  Wow, I hope you are ok, earthquakes are scary. Never experienced one myself, in the Midwest.

  Do JWs buy old JW books to destroy?

  i have never heard of this but i doubt its never been done.

  i sell some older jw books on etsy and have always been a bit afraid that some jws are buying them to destroy.

  if you have heard of this let me know.

  since covid have forced many stores not to be open 24 hours a day like wal-mart, etc…i do have one 24 hour kroger near my home.

  if you want to know where it is, message me but i might not tell you if you have not been here long enough or i feel that i can’t trust you yet.

  do you have 24 hour grocery stores near you?

  My 20 year anniversary

  after being a jehovah's witness for 52 years, today marks my 20 year anniversary of being out of the borg!

  i turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18th 2001. it was read to the congregation on september 19th, my wife's birthday.

  of course the years have had its difficulties but it has also had many wonderful experiences and epiphanies.

  It seems like wherever you go, there is something that’s not good, high taxes, too hot or humid, too much water, (floods), drought, earthquakes, fires, etc. No place is perfect. I’ve been to places that I loved visiting, but wouldn’t want to live there. New Orleans comes to mind.

  when i was a kid we had a kh with a basement and this guy joe winestien lived in it.

  he has passed away i believe.

  he was about 24 and used to hang around the young boys.

  We had a married couple in the congregation, they had a grown daughter who lived with them. She never married, was always on the “fringes” of the congregation. She wasn’t baptized, and mostly attended the memorial, and maybe a few “special talks “. The word was, she was a lesbian. Never proved, though.

  joined about the same time back in 2001 as minimus- we never agreed on very much at all, i was pro jw, and like most here, he was not.

  his constant questions would somewhat annoy me, yet they were always here every time i remembered to check back on this site, there he was.. he was a constant.

  an irritatingly constant.. what a loss tho.. wherever you are minimus, i wish you love and rest.. scooby..

  in the latest jw broadcast, anthony morris the turd gives a talk about donations.

  to camouflage this, he starts and ends the talk by saying that isn't actually what he's doing.

  first he starts with the usual disclaimer, 'wt has never begged for money like christendom and we never will', you know the drill.

  Poor people can go to other churches for aid to pay an electric bill, gas bill, or rent. The watchtower gives NOTHING to the poor. They ask the poor to give to THEM. This organization needs to go down.
