Most children of Jehovah's Witnesses followers in Japan have been whipped, survey shows
by Rattigan350 inhttps://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2023/03/15/national/jehovahs-witnesses-whipping/.
the most cited reason was “napping or talking during congregations.” others included “answering back to parents” and “playing with a schoolmate.”.
some respondents said they have been suffering depression as a result of whipping.. “i still cannot forget the sight of children screaming after they were taken into a large room at a congregation when i was a child,” a 44-year-old victim said, stressing that jehovah’s witnesses should reflect on what followers have done.. in february, a group of lawyers started supporting those second-generation followers.. in a statement issued on march 1, the japanese branch of jehovah’s witness said it does not accept child abuse.. https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20230315/p2a/00m/0na/006000c.

Elder asks my disfellowshipped cousin to leave house while grieving for his grandmother
by RULES & REGULATIONS infourteen years ago i started a thread on how horrible my disfellowshipped cousin was treated after his mom passed away and the terrible actions on the part of the elders at the funeral home.. 67. horrible conduct by congregation elders at my cousin's funeral.............. well, here we are 14 years later, and things haven't changed!.
my aunt ( who is my disfellowshipped cousin's grandmother ) was placed in home hospice care.
the nurse told her daughters ( who are jehovah's witnesses and live with their mother ) that their mom probably has 2 days left to live and that they should call the immediate family.. my disfellowshipped cousin and his sister show up in the early morning.

This elder has lost his humanity. I hope the still in family members wake up, due to his unloving, unchristian behavior.

What Will JW's Do If They Find Themselves Still Conscious after Death?
by Sea Breeze inwe all know that despite many scriptures to the contrary, jw's believe that when they die, their consciousness will cease.
my question is this: what will be the likely reaction of jw's if they find themselves conscious after death?.

Apostle Paul said that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. That is my hope.

The scripture in (Corinthians) I think, which talks about holidays, and whether you celebrate them or not, you should be “fully convinced in your own mind.” Lol, my mind told me that Christmas and birthdays should be celebrated if we want to. I knew I was not allowed to ask. 🙄

What Would Grandfather Say Now?
by LostintheFog1999 inmy late grandfather believed he was one of the anointed.
that aside when asked about whether the jw organisation would last, he would pull out the attached wt magazine (the second edition) and say "if the day ever comes when the organisation asks for money outright, it will be proof that jehovah is not it's backer.
" that's how convinced he was that such a thing would never happen.. i often wonder what my grandfather would make of the modern organisation today..

Terry, I love your Mildred Pettifog stories. She was a good woman. Now I want to talk about my grandfather (maternal), who was pretty much a born in, and passed at 85. Long time elder, and congregation servant before that. He truly believed all of it. He had great fondness for the “organization “. In his eighties, he lost a leg, due to diabetes. His overall health was failing. I had been out for about 15 years by this time. We sat alone, and I held his hand and let him talk. He expressed great disappointment in the fact that Armageddon had not yet come. He pointed to his missing leg, and said that he thought that he would be “marching triumphantly” straight into the “New System.” He died so disappointed, and disillusioned. Poor man, he was truly good. And,BTW, he HATED pedophiles.

Prediction of Watchtower in a Few Years
by Foolednomore inkingdom halls will be the thing of the past.. conventions (mini assembly halls will still be going on) but will charge for attending and parking and always a donation.
elders will play a much smaller role since csa.
