The April 1, 1972 WT, pg 197 has an article entitled "They shall know that a prophet was among them." They claim in this article that these prophets are Jehovahs Christian Witnesses. After you check this out, read Deuteronomy 18:20-22. False prophets, case closed.

i liked the point he made about if israel had a prophet who spoke in the name of jehovah and it did not occur did this mean that the nation of israel was a false prophet or more so if the nation of israel sincerely believed it.
the answer to that is a resounding no because the nation of israel was god’s appointed nation.

What JW habits do you still have?

however, there are still some jw habits and traits that i can't get rid of:.
1. i can't swear in general conversation (i'd have to be really angry).

1969 Awake on Education - A Sore Spot for Me

I remember that article, and I was only 10 years old. I felt so trapped, even then. I was screwed for a few years til I wised up and got a good job and pension that didn't require college. I'm still working, another few years to retirement! I still regret not having a chance to go to college. Those evil men in Warwick have a lot to answer for. If there is a class action lawsuit against the org for this, and the mental and emotional abuse, I want in!

i recently inquired about ancestry.com and i’ve come to the realization that even the closest sides of my family via my father, are unknown to me .
what a shame that jehovah’s witnesses kept us apart.

I have a very early memory, I was only 3 or 4 years old. My mom brought me to my JW grandmas house while dad was working to spend the day and have dinner. My dads cousin came over (non-JW). She brought her 2 boys my age, and we played nicely together all day, it was fun. After they went home so their mom could make dinner, my mom explained that, while they were nice and everything, we didn't want to get too close to them, because they were worldly. She also said that soon we would be bringing them the message of doom, and if they didn't become witnesses quick, they would be killed at Armaggedon. I swear, something bad happened to my brain that day. This was probably in 1963 or 1964

Why are they announcing 2019 conventions so early?
by Richard_I ini was just told there will be international conventions in canada in 2019. .
so i looked at jw.org and i see that there's a whole bunch of conventions now listed on the site for 2019.. isn't this odd?
normally we were told the location of conventions during the first week of january.. did they realize there was less in attendance in the 2018 conventions, and want to give ppl more time to make travel arrangements??

They must be getting desperate, commercials cost money. I also heard an apostate talk where this was suggested, and this was shot down. They said if they ran programs, etc. the r & f would just sit and not preach. They don't want that.
