  Do we really need this many prayers in a day?

  there’s no proof that prayers have any effect whatsoever, other than perhaps giving the person who prays a false sense of having done something.

  all claims that prayers have been answered are either anecdotal, fraudulent, delusional or are the result of either pure coincidence or confirmation bias.. how many prayers do you need in a day?.

  you get up and eat breakfast...you pray for another day of life.

  Rules and regulations, don’t forget that the WT society is the “channel” that the only true God is using, so they know better than you whether to do plumbing work at a Catholic Church or not. Why, what if you were in the church when Armageddon strikes, you might lose your life! 🤮

  Anyone else remember the Awake saying this?

  i may have put this in the wrong thread.

  if so, i'm sorry.. my conundrum is this.... i am almost completely certain that an awake back in the 80's/90's mentioned a group of rock bands we shouldn't listen to and i seem to remember them actually naming guns and roses.. i can't find anything now, and i'm wondering if it's the mandela effect, or if it's another case of the cdrom versions of the awakes being doctored again.. does anyone else remember this?

  awake 12/8 p.11 "since the release of the movie the excorsist some years ago many reports are on file of the adverse effects on those who saw it...mareen was an atheist who went to see it saying it was the most terrifying thing i had ever seen.

  i was shaking all over.

  during the coming weeks i was frightened to go to bed.

  My elders went on a witch hunt to find out which teenagers had seen this movie. I had not seen it till I got married, many years after I left “da troof”. It was okay, not really that scary to me. There were teens who got in trouble for seeing it, so silly.

  Why do you call yourselves "apostates?"

  well let me clarify the question.

  i know you call yourselves apostates because the bible defines people who leave their previously held beliefs as apostates.

  my question means, if the bible is not true (and i don't think it is) then there is no such thing as an apostate.i have never been a jw, only a bible student with them.

  Yes, their whole defense is that they were “just following orders” from the branch. So someone’s head should roll, if not these elders, then whoever gave this advice at the branch. I say weekends in jail for 1 year. Maybe they’ll even wake up!
