Latest jw broadcast referring to allegations of protecting pedophiles
by jonahstourguide inhi folks.. i put this in abuse as i thought it relevant.. a physically in mentally out friend that considers our friendship greater than religion told me that on the latest broadcast steven lett alluded to satans voice being behind people that claim the organisation protects pedophiles.. my friend then went on to say they must be in damage control.. he added, but that is correct, they are hiding their internal records.
is not that construed as protecting the accused?.
if i get the inclination i may post a snippet of what was actually said.. sadly my friend is trying to protect his family relationships and so goes along with the charade.. his situation weighs on me but, as many of you here know, it can be a difficult road to travel.. jtg.

Darlene, you ask how moms can protect their kids. You canāt, in this organization. After it happens, everyone is just supposed to forgive and forget, and move on. And, never tell the authorities because it will ābring reproach on Jehovahās name.ā š©š¤®

Is This New?
by Lost in the fog init is a very long time since i was an elder and the elders textbooks have changed multiple times since then.
going back to when i was an elder, to the best of my knowledge the only way a spouse could divorce from his/her partner was porneia, if that person had sexual relations with a man, woman, child, or beast.
but it had to be proven and that's the dubious 2 witness rule.. in fact, if it was not proven and the innocent party divorced and married someone else, then they could be hauled up in front of a judicial committee and be charged with committing adultery and disfellowshipped!

I donāt think it was a money thing, for some reason my parents were not out in service that day, I think that elder was trying to āteach me a lessonā, and he succeeded. But, it wasnāt the lesson he meant. Lol š

LongHairGal, thank you for your kind words.š„° I could tell many more stories, I could write a book. Sometimes, I think I could write a whole comedy routine about these experiences, because if I couldnāt laugh about it, Iād cry.

Many, many things, as I was growing up. The extreme lack of love was notable, even as a small kid. I could never understand why we couldnāt celebrate holidays, and I knew there was a scripture which said you could celebrate anything you wanted, let each one be convinced āin his own mind.ā Yet, that scripture was ignored. At age 11, I was left out in the D2D ministry, in the winter, while everyone else in the group went out to a restaurant for a break. The asshole elder in charge, apologized to me afterward, claimed they āforgotā me, and I knew he was lying. The faces on the others in the group I will never forget. Then, once I turned about 13, the elders constantly picked on me for how I looked, yet they also admitted that I was dressed modestly. Yet, apparently I looked ātoo attractive ā, and they had a problem with it. Fuck them. Then, I read a book that contained the line, āIād rather be dead than not really be living.ā I thought, thatās me. Iām not really living. The Bible does not say to put your life on hold now, donāt do anything but exist, and wait for the new system. I also vowed to myself that I would NEVER bring a child into the world, if I had to raise that child as a JW. Left for good at age 23, hard fade, never looked back.

refusing to go in service with someone
by enoughisenough indid you ever refuse to go in service with someone?
i did.... i went to the kh to meet for service and 3 brothers were there.
i told the brother taking the lead, that when he made up the car groups to take note i had a plan of my own -the 3 brothers could go together and i would do my own thing.

Did the Watchtower Society ban Vaccinations and Organ Transplants?
by Vanderhoven7 inan avid wts supporter writes:.
re: vaccinations: vaccinations have never been banned.
if they were, then no representative of the wts would have been allowed to travel overseas when vaccines were compulsory around 1920 when vaccines was regularly in the news, there was both positive and negative information printed in the golden age (forerunner of the awake) but not from the staff writers, but from out side sources of article by medical doctors at the time and others that responded to those articles.. re: organ transplants: organ transplants were never forbidden by the society.

My mom (born in 1936) was not vaccinated, and got whooping cough, measles, etc. due to not being vaccinated. Also, expelled from school at least once over this issue. I was a little kid in the 1960ās, organ transplants were a no-no then. š¤·āāļøš

Welcome to the forum, chicken lips. You are in the right place. We are ex JWs who have suffered under the Watchtower yoke, in some fashion or other, some had it worse than others. This is an English speaking forum, so most of us here are from the US, England, and Australia. Please tell us your story, but no specifics.
