I attended a union meeting, where one woman, who was well over 300 pounds, was wearing yoga pants. It did not look nice, I would have been ashamed to wear these pants with her shape. I made a quiet comment to the guy sitting next to me, that I thought she looked inappropriate. He agreed. I can just imagine some of these larger sisters showing up at meetings. đ

Will recent dress-code changes affect the WTS negatively?
by Wonderment inin a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.

Imagine someone being DFd for fornication, say 10 years ago, and they are now married to the person they fornicated with. Will they be reinstated right away?

New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tonyâs videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. itâs looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

Dio has it right. If they stop baptizing those under 18, they wonât be able to trap the kids while they are young. Which presents a quandary to the leadership. đ One thing I know, if that were the case, I NEVER would have gotten baptized.

Does The WT Keep Files On ExJW Activists?
by NotFormer init occurred to me that the wt, if they can identify the activists that are currently campaigning against them, would have a lot of ability to compile detailed dossiers on them.
once identified, the elders of the appropriate congregation could be asked to forward copies of all their membership details held locally.. would they do that, and do such dossiers exist?.
(there are probably data collection rules governing such things in a lot of countries, but by no stretch of the imagination could the wt be considered a good corporate citizen).

Hailstone message AND everyone will be saved? Questions
by slimboyfat iniâve not been paying close attention to watchtower developments, but talking to a jw yesterday it occurred to me the society (yes, still use that term - old school) have been sending out mixed messages in recent years.
from what i gather, a few years ago the gb announced that during the great tribulation jws would be required to preach a âhailstone message of judgementâ which involved telling people it was too late for them to repent and they were definitely going to be destroyed.
there were hints that this could be very soon, âany day nowâ preaching could stop and the hailstone message come in, kind of thing.

Governing Body Culpability
by NotFormer ini've seen people say something along the lines that the authorities would like to/have been trying to subpoena (members of) the gb (in csa cases).
my question is: why don't they?
if the gb are issuing orders to cover up evidence in csa cases, and otherwise interfere in justice being served in those cases, then they are accessories before (and after) the fact, and theoretically can be arrested and charged as such.

New immigrant in New York State?
by was a new boy inâstate agencies have found 4,000 vacant positions in an effort to put illegal immigrants into the stateâs workforce, according to a memo by the new york department of civil service, which was approved earlier this month.'.
in the memo, new york officials identified three barriers preventing illegal immigrants from getting those state jobs.
to address these barriers, the civil service department said it would create positions in âtransitionalâ titles with requirements âmore in line with the candidatesâ qualifications.â in other words, illegal immigrants would be hired into the same positions while, at least temporarily, having the usual qualifications such as english proficiency, proof of education, and previous employment waived for them.â.

Murder JW Style (True Crime)
by Tahoe ina home remodeling job in england that went wildly wrong:.
a builder who bludgeoned his client to death with a hammer in a row over her new extension has been jailed for at least 15 years for murder.. peter norgrove killed sharon gordon at her home on 20 july last year.. her daughter rhian brown said norgrove acted like a "wolf in sheep's clothing" after earning her trust at the church they attended in dudley.. wolverhampton crown court heard he led the jehovah's witness service the same night he killed mrs gordon.. he repeatedly lied to her about the work he was doing, which took 15 months instead of six weeks.. .
"he didn't have the experience to be doing the work he was doing," miss brown said.. "he took full payment for the extension in advance, which we believe to be more than ÂŁ30,000.".

What a tragedy, he was a dishonest JW who took this womanâs money, didnât do the work, and counted on her to never complain or take him to court, because you arenât supposed to âtake a brother to court .â I guess she was just supposed to suck it up like a good little JW, and take no action.
