If they start âallowingâ birthdays and other holidays, I will be really ticked off. That đŠ ruined my childhood, and my parents wonât know about it, because theyâve both passed away. Watchtower, you owe me 5 million bucks for the missed childhood, and missed opportunities, like college.

my guess is most jws know itâs not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they donât want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.

This JW lite sounds like a crock to me. Because you are basically living a lie. What if you wanted to put up a Christmas tree, have a birthday party for your kids, or live with someone you arenât married to? They wouldnât let you slide. Certain things you could do, like vote, I donât think they would find out unless you told them, but who wants to live like that, always looking over your shoulder.
i walked away 40 years ago, never disfellowshipped or disassociated, because I wanted to live on my terms, not theirs. They tried to come after me, but it didnât work, because they couldnât find me. I moved 30 miles away, and this was before cell phones.
If this works for you, fine. I couldnât do it. đ¤ˇââď¸
