the society literature has given mixed messages, but older literature tended to lay the basis closer to the bible that those 'anointed' are not chosen according to position, age, or experience, but according to god's will.
as the decades of the 40s and 50s passed, the subsequent decades brought in the view that those chosen to be 'anointed' would be chronologically older, many years as very active jws, likely serving in some position such as pioneer for sisters and elder for men.. the reason for the changed view: given that the society stated that the "general' call to heaven ended in 1935, then only a few replacements would be needed to fill vacancies by 'anointed' who died unfaithful to jehovah.
to the society it stood to reason that jehovah would only call 'mature' individuals with much experience as very faithful jws ... but ... they never made this a hard and fast rule, so at times, some jws would feel they wanted to go to heaven, and managed somehow to overcome the cultural fear of being different by making such a profession of faith.. nevertheless, as jws of the other sheep aged in the 1980s and 1990s, the view toward younger, newer 'anointed' became more and more jaundiced.
I partook at last months memorial.....I was sitting in the backcorner next to a single mother and kid. The kid said "he ate it!" when I ate the bread and the mum said "Shhhhh!" really loud. You should of seen the look on the 2 attendants (elders) faces when I partook.....
Damn that bread is hard....oh, and they use cheap wine too.

this is in the new isaiah book volume 1, page 253.. ----------------------------------------------------------------.
21 isaiah goes on to prophesy: (quotes isa 23:15a) following the destruction of the mainland city by the babylonians, the island city of tyre will "be forgotten".
true to the prophecy, for the duration of "one king" - the babylonian empire - the island city of tyre will not be an important financial power.

Jehovah, thru Jeremiah, includes Tyre among the nations that will be singled out to drink the wine of his rage. He says: (quotes part of Jer 25:11)(Jer 25:8-17,22,27) True, the island city of Tyre in not subject to Babylon for a full 70 years, since the Babylonian empire falls in 539 BCE. Evidently, the 70 years represents the period of Babylonia's greatest domination- When the Babylonian royal dynasty boasts of having lifted its throne even above "the stars of God" (Isa 14:13) Different nations come under that domination at different times. But at the end of 70 years, that domination will crumble. What will happen to Tyre?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Para 22, 23 goes on to imply that the 70 years finishes at 539 BCE.
Considering that the society has for the last 120 years made the 70 years in Jer, Isa, Zech, Dan and 2 Chr refer to the same thing, me thinks that "new light" on the 70 year prophecies in Jeremiah are on the way considering they've changed the interpretation of Isa 23:15.

this may be obvious to some but has anybody noticed the lack of doctrinal based watchtower study articles in wts for the last 2 years?.
lately we've been just getting either "pep talk" articles or articles that are only based on subjects.. the only new light lately is mainly the daniel and isaiah books.
and any new light in wt's is mainly just clarification (usually in the q's from readers page).. from ak
