  The mother of all Sunday public talks...

  just got a recent sunday public talk in the mail from a month or so back...has to be heard to be believed.

  i'm in the process of writing out the full talk.. 2 (will be more) things stuck out in the talk.. the speaker absolutely bashed everyone there for having apostate thoughts and for questioning jehovahs organsation.

  he made it feel like everyone there was doing those things.

  Presents a comprehensive overview of the relationship and respective dignities represented in God and his Son Jesus Christ. The Hebrew view of monotheism is presented as the context in which Jesusí life and ministry must be evaluated and understood. The author argues that the question that needed to be answered in the first century way not, "Is Jesus God?" but, "Is Jesus the Messiah?" While acknowledging the Son's deity, it is presented as lesser in glory than the Father's deity. The booklet also covers the development of the Trinity doctrine in the centuries following the establishment of the Christian congregation.

  Anyone got this book? Is this book worth getting?

  Challenge...RE: WT bound volumes, books, CDROMs...

  since on many occasions, the watchtower and awake bound volumes have been altered from what was originally printed, and newer editions of hard covered books have also been altered compared to the originals, who's to say that the cds haven't also been tampered with?.

  is there any proof of that?

  there seems to be a belief on here that the wt has made wholesale changes to their bound volumes, books and cdrom's.

  i used to have a copy of the kit.

  as i remember, the back of the book is filled with a good number of rather shaky justifications for the oddball nt translations seen only in the nwt.

  (stake vs. cross, no immortal soul, no eternal punishment, no bodily resurrection of christ, the tetragrammon in the nt, an impersonal holy spirit, and, of course, jesus as a second and lesser god.).

  Are WT doctrines THAT wacky? A few (actually A LOT) on here regard the 607BC, Blood and shunning as a bit dodgy but some of the above in the quote can be proven using either the bible or a good Greek-English lexicon.

  Apostates at assemblies...

  anyone here got any stories about apostates going on the rampage at any meetings, assemblies, conventions.. i haven't seen any but a young witness told me that his previous cong.

  called the police to a meeting cos a df person went apesh*t once.. also, all aussie jw's should know about the riot at a glenelg convention in adelaide in the 1940's where apostates rushed to the sound equipment and some jw stood in there way and kinghit one of them.
