Garbe discusses this letter and other pieces of "proof" in detail, and if anything is certain, it is that the statement that the letter was unquestionably genuine - is a very questionable one, to put it mildly. It is viewed as a provocation, and the wording sounds VERY strange to be put in a letter. What is strangest, though, is that when there was to be a retrial, the letter meanwhile had mysteriously disappeared and has been so ever since. I can have a look in Garbe and see if I find the pages in question. What it undoubtedly WAS, was a part of a very aimed campaign towards the WTB&TS and that it tried to link it to Masonism and the "Jewish Bolschewism" in order to put them in a bad light amidst growing nazism.

Rutherford's smear campaign (a must read)
by Leolaia inthere has been some interest recently about the moyle case, and how it may have set a precident in what became the society's disfellowshipping policy.
in july 1939, the chief legal counsel of the watchtower bible & tract society, olin r. moyle, resigned from his position in a protest over conditions at bethel and rutherford's mistreatment of workers.
he did not want to continue living under those conditions and he felt he could effect positive change for his brothers by taking such a stand.

Nothing but a great forum in front of which to publisize the persecution carried out by the various authorities within the borders of the previous Soviet Union, as well as other nations. Nothing stranger than taking cases to court. WT uses this as an arena to tell what is going on and to try to make changes through discussions, and they have met with governmental representatived for decades, so now they can meet them all at once. I fail to see any problem at all.

Watchtower teachings on the length of human existence.
by free @ last inanyone know the current wt teachings on the length of time humans have been in existence?
do they still teach that the first man and woman were created approximately 6,000 years ago?
have they made any comments on archeological findings that show paleo-indians living in the america's 10,000+ years ago?

"they can begin to see that they are listening to the thoughts of men."
Well, if you read the verses of the Bible dealing with chronology, I think it is very difficult not to reach a 6,000 years (apporx.) history since Adam. Hard to get around. So in stead of "thoughts of men" it is more like "thoughts of the Bible" ...............

"do the decent thing (that everyone else already knows) to protect children ?"
Well, the Catholic Church has not exactly been a front runner for an open policy on this, has it? Forced from barrier to barrier, it finally has been forced to adopt a policy which in theory looks good. I am not interested in defending JW policy when it comes to this, but there are MANY organisations that have skeletons in the closet. Child abuse and rape in general never was a priority among the police or prosecuting authorities. Jury members are still quoted as saying that a woman dressed like that has to bear the guilt herself, that a woman responding to an invitation knew what was coming - comments sounding more like coming from Moslem communities than from a Western courtroom. Great parts of modern society have a lot to answer for and are burdened with a huge amount of shame for how they have failed women and children. This is only slowly starting to be treated with the seriousness it should. Thousands upon thousands of lives have been destroyed right in front of the eyes of an indifferent society. Good that it is beginning to be changed. Sad that the WT is not a front runner, but still partially sticks to the "keep it inside the congregation" attitude and only follows what is required by law and not what according to morals should be the most natural thing to do - follow the Christ and take care of those in need. There are unlikely good elders and congregational members out there, but others are so immature and inhibited and dare not do anything that is not written on the pages of the WT.

Watchtower Library NOT identical to printed publications
by cedars ini realise the title of this thread will come as no surprise to many of you.
i've certainly heard before of subtle variations between extracts from the watchtower library and the actual printed literature.. what i didn't expect was to find this openly admitted to in the license agreement for the watchtower library, where it says in article 4:.
4. limited warranty.

The 1957 Theocratic War Strategy missing page is nothing revisionist. If you look at almost ALL the reprinted bound volumes, you will see the same - that the last page is blank. And why? Because the books advertised for in the original bound volumes or original loose magazines no longer were available, were out of print, at the time the reprinted volumes were issued. You'll find lots and lots of these white back pages. Adverts removed, not TWS specifically removed.

Healthworker stated that "My wife are going to therapy these days, after learning TTATT (directly caused by Gerrit's crazy talk in Norway 2012).Guess what? The psychiatrist actually treats other jw who stopped going to meetings after his famous speach here in Norway. She said that one guy just made the decision that enough was enough. Their whole family are inside, so they went underground... "
Are you stating that your wife's psychiatrist has told your wife that the psychatrist is having sessions with another JW? That the psychiatrist has given out vital and personal information about another client?

Latest WT: Reduction in branch offices is "visible proof" that Christ is "breaking down human barriers"
by cedars inas has already been mentioned, the december 15th watchtower (study edition) is now online and available for download on this link.. i couldn't help but smile at the concluding comments of the final study article on page 28 where it had this to say:.
"the very concept of foreigner has already lost much of its meaning among jehovahs witnesses, who pay little attention to the nationality of those in their midst.
recently, for example, several of their smaller branch offices were merged to simplify the work of oversight and to improve efficiency in accomplishing the preaching of the good news of the kingdom.

"They were illegally not paying tax for years."
Not quite so, was it? The were singled out as the only religious organization that would have to pay such a tax, and the reason how the authorities came up with the figure, was that the WT voluntarily stated how much they had received in private funding. No other religious group was told to come up with their figures, and had the WT followed the others and not given their own figures, they would have not have been taxed. So they were not taxed because they illegally had not done something, but because they wanted to follow the law and state the amount - and THEN they were taxed, as the one and only organization to be so.
And the two accounts you quote from, tell the same story.
