Slightly strange is it, though, that people find this Romanian group (and similar groups in other so-called East European countries) humble and deep and earnestly Christian, while the same people mock Da Judge and his followers - because this Romanian group is VERY MUCH a Rutherfordian/early Knorrian group.

"very recently they inducted two very young men (in their late 20's) into the Branch Committee of India Bethel. This may be a foreshadow of greater things to come!"
Yeah, sure - the Indian Branch has always been a forerunner. Oh man, here we are maximazing rumours, taking the science of rumourism to new hights.

WT destroying old literature
by startingover ini was approached by an elder about a year ago asking what i am going to do with my large collection of wt literature.
he told me the society had put word out that they were collecting old literature.
i asked him why but he couldn't give me a definite answer.

He is selling AND buying. Some of the stuff he is selling, he once bought from me and I in my turn a few years earlier had bought some of it from others. Some of us are collectors, find stuff in attics or flee markets, sell and buy. He is just one among many. No need to make him look suspicious.

CHANGE IN RESURRECTION DOCTRINE?
by Mary inok, this is from the january 1, 2007 craptower.
page 25 is the study article called "the first resurrection---now under way".
it's too boring to type all the stupidity written, but here's a brief synopsis of where they come up with the brainiac idea that the first resurrection occurred in 1918 onwards:.

Remarkably stupid point in this week's Jeremiah book study - Jehovah's loving kindness
by sir82 inthe whole jeremiah book is an abomination, but a point in this week's study exceeded even its usual standards of inanity.. from page 144, paragraph 10:.
in our day, god continues to show loving-kindness in ways that directly benefit his worshippers.
consider the matter of prayer.

Chronic problem should not be understood as health or other problems, it is applied to problems one might have as to tendency towards immorality, drunkenness etc.

100% pure unadulterated speculation - what changes would a "New New World Tranlsation" contain?
by sir82 inon this thread:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/257481/1/i-cant-find-any-bibles-seems-to-be-a-shortage.
some (well, me, mostly) are speculating that the wts is planning to distribute a "new new world translation" some time soon.. if that is true, what changes do you think they would include?.
-
TheOldHippie
Very stupid speculation, since one cannot just "put words into" the Bible if it is to be a translation. Otherwise, it would be a paraphrase, as are the Amplified Bible, Living Bible and Today's English Version, which are not translations at all. One cannot all of a sudden "put" words or expressions like GB, earthly paradise or whatever into the Bible text. Meaningless thread. And as previously stated, elsewhere in the world, Bibles are available, so it is just a "US thing". And if you consider the fact that all other translations of the NWT are made based on the English translation, it would imply that translations into tens upon tens of other languages would have to be made too, millions of Bibles printed - the cost would be HUGE. I would advice the US readers not to speculate as much as they do ................. The world is slightly larger than the US.

No - my error: Ex-Kreisrat is NOT former circuit overseer, but is a public office and has nothing to do with the JW in terms of position. Sorry.

It says:
This is better:
Tuesday, the Chemnitz district court heard the appeal of a 56-year old woman from Aue. She is a convinced member of Jehovah's Witnesses - and got to know the alledged head of the gang at a meeting of the denomination. Her husband - brother of the former circuit overseer - also belonged to the religious association and obvioulsy tried to recruit persons for the network there.

"A friend sent me a link about the King James Bible translating the "Divine Name". Maybe this is why there are no new NWT bibles available. "
No way. NWT is produced by WTB&TS, the DNKJV is a translation made by others and not distributed by the WTB&TS. It additionally has kept many of the errors of the KJV and is not very recommendable. Additionally, please remember that the US in not always = the World. If there is a shortage of NWT in the US, there is no shortage in other parts of the world, over here in Europe it is available as always.

It makes me a bit sad from time to time, as the education given is not as good as it should have been, either because it is given by MSs with little or no education who has to ask or rely on educated people like me to get some historical or geographical or pronounciational facts straight, or because it is given by elderly Es with an illness history who have forgotten most of the names and mix up things and want to direct the attention of the audience to their own hospitalization history and survival strategy diminishing the illness history of others present that is bigger and more serious than their own, or because they are so afraid of saying something wrong that they keep asking and asking until they finally get the reply that has already been printed in the magazine and then and then only is it that they can move on to the next paragraph because then and only then are they happy they have given no wrong education.
Now how was THAT for ONE sentence only?
