" in zion's watch tower of july 15, 1894, russell advised his readers that the trouble they were experiencing was taking place exactly as he had anticipated 17 years earlier.. russell's readers were concerned that, given the troubles they were experiencing, matters could not hold out until 1914.. he comforted them with the information that 1914 was not the date for the beginning of the time of trouble, but for its end.. the full text and a scan of that page from the watch tower is available at:.

Have you not read and heard that world conditions were extremely peaceful and quiet in the years before 1914, that prominent politicians and historians have written that the world as we knew it, as we cherished it, disappeared in 1914, that the old, quiet, nice, stable, peaceful world abruptly was taken away from us all in 1914 and that we in stead got this terrible and unstable world that we have seen ever since? Just can't be, Doug, just can't be - it was PEACE back then, Doug, war came AFTER, you must not try to twist things around, Doug!

Well, that is what the JWs are told to do at the ventures. They are instructed NOT to approach people, but to remain in the back and only respnd when people are approaching them with questions etc. So it is meant to be exactly what you state - a "silent" or "quiet" witness.

so ironic, the reducing number of anointed was the hallmark of how close the end was, the aging of the generation was another side of that same coin.

You are mixing two things up. They are not closing the call. Those claiming to be of the anointed and now being 20 years of age or whatever, still are of the anointed - at least in their own eyes, I mean nobody has the right to doubttheir claim.

But - that does not interfer with the overlap generation statement. There are two things in question. First is that these youngsters are of the remnant. OK, so be it. Second has to do with the end time chronology - and the overlap generation and the closeness of the end means that those advanced in age among the anointed are part of the second part of the overlap generation.

So although there are young people claiming to be of the remnant, that does not postpone the end time, because its closeness is based on the overlap and not on the youngsters among them.

So the story goes.

WT Policy on Deceased Pet Remains

we will be putting our beloved pet of 13 years to rest soon.

is there a wt policy, written or unwritten on what could be done with the ashes after cremation?

i assume it's basically the same for pets as with humans but i'm not real clear on what that is.

My old, beloved dog's ashes is resting in an urn under a tree and some bushes I have planted around the spot which was her favourite one in her older days, where she enjoyed sitting or half-sleeping, watching the world go by. Close to her, she has two of her puppies who did not survive, a rabbit and a couple of guinea pigs, the latter are not cremated, though.

Within a couple of months, the present old, beloved dog's ashes are going to accompany her as well, as the present one is very feeble right now, but she enjoys her daily short trips, and she enjoys resting in the garden, watching the overlapping new dog playing around her. It is tough moments when they are closing in on their final days, but it is comforting to think about their having lived a long and full life, where they have been enormously loved and taken care of, and I really cannot think of anything that I regret in that respect. Mutual love, and so they really deserve to continue resting in the garden they loved so much.

This is not the current understanding or explanation. The messages or warnings STARTED in the said years, but then have continued to be given ever since. So the trumpets are still being sounded.
