New JW assembly/meeting that has prerecorded message? Lasts half a day
by HillCountry insorry about the confused nature of the topic but my mom (who still goes to the kh meetings) said that there will be an "assembly" on sunday where there will be a prerecorded message or talk of some sort and that it will only be half a day and won't need to bring lunch.
anyone else have heard of these or gone to one?.
i know they are changing a lot of things.

Meeting for not paying assembly fees???!!!!
by Kool Jo inhey folks......has anyone else heard of, or experienced this before?.
i visited by parents over the weekend and accompanied them to their assembly....same rubbish spoken about since ive been born....obey the gb, donate your last penny, no education and be a pushover.. anyways, our assembly hall has lush vegetation and scenery, so i was more focused on that....i started dozing off after lunch, so got up and went walking, saw some older folks from the congregation i grew up with.. upon the conclusion of the assembly, wed normally leave out right after the prayer ends so as to avoid the traffic.
however, for this assembly he told me that hes gonna be a few minutes with the elders and branch representatives...so a few minutes turned into an hour..

Read what I said once more. You also whould try to have two thoughts in your head at the same time. First thought: Zone visits have taken place for decades. Second thought: For the last couple of years they have been piped.

Totally wrong. You must remember one little thing: USA is not the World. Over here in Europe zone visits have been piped for years. What you have done in the US is your "thing", but you must remember that things take place outside of your little pond as well

"The Old Hippie, these "zone visits" have never been piped in to every KH in the zone and hyped for months on end as some sort of "special meeting" ever before. I have been in the JW community for DECADES too and I could not tell you one thing about what a "zone visit" entails. Why is 2014 different? I think that is the point of this thread, isn't it?"
They HAVE been piped to every KH in the zone. We had it piped last year - 2013 - and this year - 2014 - and it has been announced recently that it will be piped in March 2015 as well. And before that, it was transferred thru telephone lines both in 2010 and 2011 and 2012. So there is absolutely NOTHING new about it.

Recent Update - Service Report
by Da.Furious inon oct. 22, eight brothers were released from prison in turkmenistan by presidential amnesty.
(see 2014 yearbook, p. 31) the ninth brother is still imprisoned, but it is hoped that he will be released shortly.
some were already in prison for three or more years and had been severely mistreated.

I AGREE WITH THE JWs: THE 'SOUL' DOESN'T EXIST
by NAVYTOWN ini agree with the witnesses about almost nothing, but i do think they have the right idea when it concerns the 'soul'.
it is my belief that there is no such entity as a 'soul' that resides in a human being.
the idea originated in ancient, pre-scientific eras.
