So while complaining there is no way out except being df'ed, you are complaining you are left alone and unbothered while not being df'ed?

JW Stream congregation meetings
by neat blue dog inlast october if i'm not mistaken, wifi bandit leaked a letter which mentioned not only recordings of regional and circuit assemblies, (which he uploaded to youtube), but also recordings of congregation meetings, which the letter said would only be online for one week each.
unless i missed it, none of these have been leaked as of yet.
has anyone seen or heard of this?.

Meetings are streamed from chosen congregations for the benefit of sick or elderly to be watched for a week. Likewise convention programs can be watched. Why the fuzz?

Did others experience this on the ministry or among JWs generally?
by slimboyfat insometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.
i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.
a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.

Never heard it myself, only rumours. Might it not be that someone has said - as I myself might say on occasion - that "wow! this is a nice place, I would not mind living here" - and then that statement has been mis-interpreted?

I in fact respect other people and I respect their beliefs. There are many things other people believe that I do not agree with, but I never ridicule them for their beliefs. I say I disagree, I try to discuss in a calm manner, I try to put things as nicely as possible. Ridicule - no. There are so many reasons why people believe as they do, each of them/us has so much of a load to carry, so much background, that I would never ridicule. When I come to know somebody good, I can criticise, not until then - but never ridicule.

Ahh, WT Writers
by berrygerry inthe famous may 22, 1969 "never grow old in this system" awake.. in 1968 there was a fantastic 17-percent increase in crime over 1967. this came on top of many years of other large increases.
the population, however, grew only one percent last year.
so crime exploded seventeen times as fast as the population!.
-
TheOldHippie
It is "funny" - for those of us who understand it, but I never stop being amazed at how difficult it is for many to do percentage math or calculate increase/decrease or combine this with "x times as many", "threefold", "half as many", "three and a half times the size" etc. Tell a number to a journalist and you are almost certain of it being misunderstood.

Who are the "Inactive"?
by thereishope inthis was my starting point in this journey of rediscovery, and i've made great strides, but here i am again asking the same question.
all this talk re the rc and the shunning of the inactive ones.
there is no announcement made obviously about "shun sister so-and-so, as she is inactive.
-
TheOldHippie
An inactive one is a publisher who has not been out in service / has not turned in a service report for the last 6 months. Hence it is not a thing a single elder can decide, but is based on the missing reports.

And in Richard Barber's life story (WT 1965)
The prisoners were being transferred to Atlanta penitentiary. Brother Frank Horth, Sister Van Amburgh and Sister Fisher and Sister Agnes Hudgings, a stenographer, and myself hastened over to the station. Brother Rutherford there gave me some instructions. If we were harassed too much by the police, we were to sell Bethel and the Brooklyn Tabernacle and move to either Philadelphia, Harrisburg or Pittsburgh, as our corporation was in Pennsylvania. A price of $60,000 was suggested for Bethel, and $25,000 for the tabernacle. When the train was ready, Brother Rutherford took Brother Horth and Sister Hudgings on the train with him. They rode for a distance while Brother Rutherford dictated a letter of instructions to Brother Horth, assigning him to sell Bethel and the Tabernacle. Arriving back in Bethel, Sister Hudgings made copies of this letter of instructions for us. The Tabernacle was sold, if my memory serves me aright, for only $16,000. Later Bethel was sold to the government and all arrangements made except the transfer of cash, when the armistice was signed; but providentially the sale of Bethel was never accomplished.

How come you have never heard of them? Hudgings is mentioned in the JW history book, page 73:
After a lengthy discussion, W. F. Hudgings, a director of the Peoples Pulpit Association, read to the audience a letter from Brother Rutherford. In it he sent love and greetings to those assembled. “Satan’s chief weapons are PRIDE, AMBITION and FEAR,” he warned. Showing a desire to submit to Jehovah’s will, he even humbly suggested suitable men in the event that the shareholders should decide to elect new officers for the Society.
