Fishing and JW's???
by lurkernomore inso i was just reading a thread and came across a completely new jw 'rule', that of not being allowed to go fishing!..
at least it's new to me as i always enjoyed fishing as did others in my old congregation.
anyone else heard of this or had this imposed on them in they're jw lives?.

by Simple Minds ini have been lurking on this site for 3 years and this is my fist post.
i would like to thank everyone for helping me wake up.
i was baptized at 24, married at 25, ms for 18 years mentally in for 24 years but started to wake up 3 years ago doing research to give public talks, and the actions of arrogant and narcissistic brothers and sisters did not help.

The Laki eruption must have been frightening, since people all over Europe were totally unaware of what it was, of what had happened. There were not exactly any television news crews to send out, no planes or satellites - no knowledge. Must have scared the shit out of them. Just like the 1755 Lisbon earthquake and tsunami, which killed towards 100,000 and ruined every church in town, and that on a Church holiday - an event which was a landmark in European philosophy and religious thought. How could God allow such a thing to happen? People turned atheists en masse. -

Do people at HQ give them to you or tell it to you because you make them believe you are 100 % in, or do they know you are not quite as in as that but still give it to you, or - well, how do you get this inside information? For your information, Norway has a right-wing government, and during WWII was occupied by Germany like so many other countries in Europe, and thus have no more a WWII "past" than any other country, unlike Germany/Austria/Hungary/Roumania/Slovakia which were allies.

It is not like a magazine from 1994 is now changed because of a new understanding of a topic. As for books, the electronic version corresponds to the latest paper version. As for magazines, there have been a couple of changes, but in those instances, they were typos that were detected early and so the translated issues already had the changes (because they back in the old days were issued four-five months after the US originals).
If they really had wanted to change old versions, then why do you still find in the Ezechiel commentary book in the elctronic version that the prwaching work will be completed before the end of the 20th century? So changes are only made where there are changed printed versions.
