Unconditional Love Is The Most Precious Of All Gifts
you may not remember, but i know you very well.
i met you a long time ago when you came to my house with your smiling faces, your neat clothes, and your soft voices, and a bible tucked neatly under your arm.
you told me many beautiful stories of a "paradise earth," and a "righteous new system" which would be established shortly.
Incredibly touching.
In MY case, more than you know.
And there's nothing I can do about it.
It hurts. Terribly. It brings tears to my eyes.

"The Greatest Of All Gifts Is Unconditonal Love"
i'm really tired of always having to fight.
i don't have any friends in this world and i don't want to return to the evil watchtower.
it seem to me that everyone else around have fun and enjoy the life while, i still don't know what to i do with my life.
I know it's hard. It's VERY hard. For many years, I too was taught not to associate with "Worldly" people.
We were taught no TV, no movies, no cecular music, no sports,....
Only go to church and read your Bible.
They also taught against worldy churches....Baptist, church of Christ, Catholic, Assembly of God, about any of them you'd care to name.
I am now socially illiterate. I don't know anyone anymore. I don't know WHAT to do, HOW to do it, and No one to do it WITH.
Practically speaking: I'm lost.
I'm in the same boat you are. But don't give up. There's hope. There's gotta be.
I don't belong to either world anymore.
I'm Too holy for the world, and too worldly for the Church.
Let's all get together and form our own world! lol.

ummmmm how to put this?
i'm leaving and moving on from this community, obviously to the great delight of many of you, however, for all the other more genuine characters, may i extend a hand of appreciation for all the help that you have given me at times.. to be honest, this place makes me feel more ill often than better, it feels like i'm sliding backwards the longer i stay around.. maybe one day i'll return when attitudes from those who could be more socially responsible actually make their nessarsary changes rather than constantly being on the attack against those who have no other agenda but a desire to help out their fellow man, regardless of religion, creed, sexual orientation or whatknot.. to those friends that i have made here, please feel free to email me anytime and/or if ever you need any help personally, please do not hesitate to call upon me.. cheerio, keep your chins up.. peace & whatknot(?).
mark.
Celt....
Sorry to see ya go.
I don't know what happened perse', obviously some unhealthy attitudes.
I hate to see anyone leave, but if, as you said, it makes you feel like you're "sliding backwards", then well, I guess you've got to move foward. Onward & upward. Even though I never really got to know you, I'll miss having you on the board.
My email is always open. Take care of yourself. Come back & visit from time to time, and if you see a name that has the wrong attitude, just logoff.
Don't forget, I've gone through some of that crap here too.
Take care Mark

BALLASTIC: >"it was taken out of print before the end of it's shelf life due to a number of in-accuracies which were pointed out to the society.
TRC: Interesting comment! I found a 1958 copy of the thing the other day in a book store and bought it. Research work you know.....
I haven't really had time to read it yet. What are the inaccuracies?

is the anyone, anyone, out there who has managed to turn a jw into an ex-jw?
i know there are lots of people who wanna know what it is that you did that worked--any (and every) suggestion is helpful!!!
i'll try anything at this point!!!
THOMAS POOLE: That is very incouraging!
TP:>"One problem though, since she left the WT, she has not found
Christ in her life. This makes me unevenly yoked up to now."
TRC: Thomas...don't give up hope. Right now, you may be the ONLY hope she has!
TP: >"She is progressing though, I think. It is slow, but I keep waiting and watching"
TRC: Tom, "slow" progress is like GOLD compared to NO progress.
Please, just be patient, and show lots of love.

i'm just curious what everyone's view of hell is.
i know that most of you were at one time jws and i was wondering if you still held to the no-hell doctrine or if you had found scriptural reasons to believe otherwise.
if the latter applies, would you be so kind as to share the scriptures that have enlightened you?.
Ideally, it would be nice to think that there is no literal place known as "Hell". But I'm not willing to take that chance.
Hell was not created for man, but for Satan & his demons (& those who follow his deceptive way).
I may be wrong, but what if I'm not?
All I know is what the 1611 KJV says about it.
I do not believe in Pergatory, or "soul-sleep".
The rich man talked to Abraham across the impassable gulf (Luke 16:19-31).
Moses and Elijah talked with Jesus on the mount of transfiguration (Matt chapter 17).
Jesus said to the repentant thief : TODAY thou shalt be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43).
Also see Hebrews 12:1 conserning witnesses who are watching us.
The rich man in Luke 16 didn't have a second chance.
"It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement."
(Hebrews :9:27)
Also see 2 Cor:5:10. See the description of the final judgement in Rev:20:11-15; also John:5:28-29. Heaven and Hell are both eternal.
Nothing in scripture about a period of probation, another chance, for those who die unrepentant.
"TODAY if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts" (Heb.3:7-8)
Yes, Jehovah IS a God of love, but the scriptures WARN US of hell.
He lets US make the decicion of which road we will choose.
Yes, I would like to think that there is no literal burning hell... I'm sorry, But I'm a REALIST.
i went to the kh yesterday afternoon.
i met a friend there that i haven't seen in a while.
she and her husband used to be regulars there until her husband died, then she moved back to california to live with her daughter.

and foolishness of the meeting, but you went anyway?
I dont see the reason in that.
Care to elaborate?"
Yes:
How can I witness to Witnesses, & relate to them,
without knowing what they believe & why?

Also found a man that he and I were good frinds in school, whom I haven't even seen since Jr High.
He didn't remember me though. He and his wife are regulars.
They had their public talk & WT study.
One thing I didn't like was, they applauded the speaker !
Or in other words, the applauded the minister.
I'm sorry, but I just don't believe in that.
It's like the "speaker" is giving a "performance".
I think it warms the ego in a negative way.
Why can't they just go up to the speaker after the service and say, "good message"?
I mean, don't get me wrong, I believe in applause for a "performance", such as a concert, etc; but not for giving what is supposed to be a spiritual message. The speaker is to edify, not recieve applause. If there is any praise or glory (i.e. applause),
shouldn't it go to GOD (Jehovah) instead of MAN???
He did speak of what it means to repent, and I did agree with what he said.
A heartfelt sorrow for the transgression, turn around and persue a Godly course.
It seem's to me that being a JW is like being on the job 24/7.
You should witness to people because you want to, not because you feel that you have to.
At the end of the service,
the overseer reminded everyone to "turn in their time".
What, are they "clocking out for the week" or what? What is that?
Also, there was no alter service. no alter call. They never once said anything about recieving salvation. They said nothing about recieving Christ, acknowledging Christ, or anything. Why?
I mean, do you have to wait for a convention someplace?
What if you die before then?
