You can go on and on about the US. But compared to past world powers in history (Rome, etc.,), we are by far the most amiable and humane. Our actions after WWII proved this.

ok those of you that know me personally know that i sit on a ton of event committees, usually for non-profits benefitting kids.
yes, it is very rewarding but there is no paycheck.
this has not been an issue for us.

only 18 years old with her whole life in front of her.
she took her own life this morning at 0400hrs.. i am so sorry not to have been in a better position to get your letters to her in time.. take care all of you & kindest regards.
It really burned the F**k out of me when I read that her JW parents burned all her baby photos in front of her, calling her "dead" or "cut off." What JW love!

here is what i believe the watchtower society needs to do in 5 clear steps.
that is if they are to avoid the coming "trainwreck" of being forced out of business: .
1. take full and complete responsibility for their part in the bad policies with respect to blood, sexual molestation, and shunning.
WT Self Preservation has always been their foremost goal. Even at the expense of their sheep. If push came to shove, would the WT do these things to stay "alive?" The situation would have to be very severe.
Remember, this action would rip them of their self proclaimed "Faithful and Discreet" servant of God and thus, make them ill-relevant.
They dont give a rats ass about the Law. Its Satans world, law, etc., and they are very good about going underground to get around the law, as they have shown in many countries. Hey, if it gets too hot in the US, they can always relocate in Switzerland, where probably most of their money is already!

which is shocking to me, since there is so much gossip always going on, now i am sure everyone who doesnt know soon will.. anyway, this brother has been an elder for many years, and he told my husband that he was removed because his son, who is a senior in high school was publicly reproved.
i think this is very sad , only because of more of their polices and backward ways of thinking.
It too depends on who you are. A well known family in our area has had their kids screw up big time and the fathers still were retained as elders, then I have seen other lesser elder/fathers get it because of their kids.
As an elder, the only case I sat on (related to this issue), I refused to go along with removing our PO because this son messed up. You can be a good father and still have a Esau or a Jacob as a son!

my husband and i have this friend we have known for probably 17 years or more.
he was an elder for many years but stepped down .
The WT is truly losing the best of the best. It seems that your friend does not have any doctrinal disputes with the WT, only policy disputes.
If this is the case, then this situation can really pull you apart, thinking that it is still Gods only possible organization on earth.........
To help him free himself from this dilemma, Ray Franz' two books, COC & ISOCF, could also provide information, showing that the WT is no more "blessed" than any other religion out there.........do you think he would read them?
