I had, in my hands, the John and Yoko “Two Virgins” album. This album featured them both nude on the cover. The Elders got wind of it, out it went in the trash! DO you know how much that album is worth today......

You Know: Matt. 10:11-14, Please Respond
by tfs inmatthew 10:11-14 says,.
"into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving, and stay there until you leave.
when you are entering into the house, greet the household; and if the house is deserving, let the peace you wish it come upon it; but if it is not deserving, let the peace from you return upon you.

" A simple reading of the account shows that Jesus, after talking to his disciples about things they would need, or might think they would need, in going on a preaching tour, namely, money and food and clothing, then talked about something else they would need on their trip, manely lodging, and that this was the primary concern discussed in his quoted words....By its quoting only a segment of the verse and splitting up the points, the article (WT, July 15, 1979)
more easily manipulates the mind of the reader." Ray Franz ISOCF, page 320“a preaching tour” and how to obtain lodging are two very different goals.
""“Jesus' clear disciple-making instructions at Matt. 10:11-14 and Luke 9:5 “""
Again, I state that Jesus words were not for disciple making, but on how to obtain lodging.
Much more info in his book on this JW concept.....

I GIVE UP!!
After the post regarding the "JW fact sheet" and all the good, damming info there, I would like to share this:
A good JW friend visited me in the “cover of darkness” last night to say hello (I am DA). After some friendly talk, he asked me the question: “will you ever come back and do you still believe the JW’s are the truth?”
I got the opening mantra, only Jws doing Gods will, they have the “truth,” where else can you go?
I kindly spoke of the UN/WT connection, the 1914 generation change, the misuse of disfellowshipping, blood and much more. Like most Jw’s, he did not know that Jesus is not a mediator for the “other sheep,” and we talked about the double standards going on at the local KH. Three hours of updating him on the “fact sheet”
My friend AGREED with me on most topics. However, the JWs keep him in line from sinning and going astray and for that, he is staying.
Like most Jws I talk to, they know that most of the teachings are wrong, however, they don’t want to leave the “support” the Jws offer when you are “in.” What can you do? I give up when they start agreeing with you, yet are as happy as snot to be in bondage.............

Your decision to join the Jehovah's Witnesses has following positive aspects:
it will glorify God
it may increase your resistance to sin
The negative sides however include:
since you have doubt, it will not be according your faith
it can become a habit, which controls you
it will be a stumbling block to others
I hope that my questions had helped you to make situation concerning your decision either or not to join the Jehovah's Witnesses more clear. If you want to really make a wise decision - pray God for wisdom in a light of what Bible teaches us about our attitudes.
If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind; for the doubter, being double-minded and unstable in every way, must not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Effectiveness of Psychotherapy
by larc inon a previous thread, the question of the effectiveness of psychanalysis came up.
since then, i have done some research.. a recent article* summarized the results of three literature surveys, and the author came up with the following conclusions:.
1. for major affective disorders, and major psychoses, psychpharmacological treatment works best.. 2. for symptomatic anxiety based disorders, such as phopias, generalized anxiety disorders, panic disorder, obsessive complulsive disorder, and post - traumatic stress disorder, cognitive and behavioral treatments work best.. 3. for personality disorders and complex comorbid disorders with an underlying personality disorder, long term relationship therapies work best.
