  People who abuse or neglect their children just because that is all they have ever known...are they living in a cave? Can they not see that they are continuing the misery?

  High maintenance people...by that I mean people who need LOTS of attention, cannot make a decision on their own, are needy and clingy, refuse to ever assert any kind of independence...ok, you get the picture. After having dealt with one too many of them in my life, I find myself now with an inability to even be around them for 5 mins.

  Guess it's a good thing I'm not a psychiatrist or therapist, huh?

  Again, I think mine is self explanatory. For one coming out of the borg, and being raised as one, and a female...being able to think for one's self seemed to me the greatest freedom of all!

  i slept as much as possible.

  one thing that i can say.... if i hear any of these expressions over the next week, i'll hurl on whoever says them.. gods earthly organization {substitute jehovah for god for any of these}.

  OMG,

  I can't believe I forgot to include my favorite John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies! Naturally I like them all, but my two favs of each are "McClintock" (I'm sorry, but that spanking scene at the end just turns me on ). And for Clint Eastwood, tho I LOVE the Dirty Harry movies, "The Outlaw Josey Wales" is still my fav. The old Indian says:"The white man has been sneaking up on us for years". Too good.

  Trying to pick 10 is almost impossible! I cannot believe how much I have in common with all of you. There was AT LEAST one movie on all of your lists that I would put on mine. Ok, here goes:

  1. Anne of Green Gables and the sequel
  2. The Matrix
  3. Airplane
  4. The Man From Snowy River
  5. Somewhere in Time
  6. Dead Poet's Society
  7. All Star Wars movies
  8. All Alfred Hitchcock's movies
  9. The Princess Bride
  10. All Star Trek movies(yes, even the campy older ones)
  11. The Sound Of Music
  I'm sorry, but these deserve honorable mention too!

  about 3-4 weeks ago, i posted a thread "daughter od'd on heroin--help!

  " so many helped me with experiences and good advice.

  Somehow I missed that thread. I am so sorry about your daughter, I was married to an alcoholic for 15 years, and Al-Anon was the beginning of my self-growth journey. I learned so many helpful thoughts from that organization. Of course, they can only take you so far, but it is an excellent first step. Congratulations.

  I am glad your daughter is in rehab...I hope she is ready to accept the help. My best wishes and thoughts are with you dear.
