  Hello All, I am new to this forum.

  i am new this site and would like to introduce myself.

  i am 36 years old/young, female and live in the usa.

  i drifted from the jw's in 1990. i have only recently started to research the jw way because i was afraid to second guess what i was taught for 26 years.

  Hi Cassaline

  Welcome to this board. I am a 38 year young female who was raised a Witness and only left 3 years ago. My story is posted in the personal experiences forum. The guilt and confusion after leaving are almost as debilitating as practicing the religion! Reading this and other boards really helped me sort out my thoughts, and "grow" out of that terrible limbo that seems to engulf our spirits when we leave.

  I hope you too find it helpful to share your experience with others and argue and debate and speak freely about what you REALLY think. It is a glorious thing to free your mind. Please do not be easily offended, we have all suffered losses leaving the borg, and sometimes our pain cries out for recognition.

  I look forward to hearing more from you. Welcome again!

  hi all, i split up with my girlfriend today.. i want to know if i am right in my decision.. we lived in the same flat for 2 years, fairly good relationship.

  she went to brussels to study in the european community for 6 months.

  i waited for her return, patiently.

  Sorry for your troubles buddy...relationship problems SUCK!

  Ultimatums are very tricky. You should never deliver them unless you have thought out the consequences thoroughly and are prepared to live with the results. They also sometimes give the other person the "excuse" they were looking for to end things without having to be totally honest about how they feel. Now she can say that you tried to make her choose between her education and you.

  On the other hand, I think your subconscious maybe was telling you that you had expended enough mental and emotional energy on this relationship without getting enough back. We all have to set limits as to what we want, need and expect out of any relationship. It sounds to me like she is unable to give you what you need out of it...at least for now. Is it possible you both feel a small amount of relief that at least it's over? If so, then it was for the best.

  The aftermath is never easy, you have my sympathies on dealing with it. I hope you will use your time and energies now on continuing to grow and develop yourself...you sound like you are well on your way!

  Spent time with my brother yesterday!

  yesterday, my brother had his jeep towed in to my shop for repair.

  about the time he arrived i was ready to eat so i took him with me to fuddruckers and we sat at the table and drank beer for lunch.

  that was the first time i have ever drank with my brother, and honestly i can't remember the last time we just talked one on one.

  Hi Bendrr,

  That was GREAT that you had an opportunity for some real communicating with your brother. Yes it does sound like his eyes are beginning to be opened...and you know how that goes. Once you see a little bit, it is almost impossible not to see the rest!

  Good luck to you. I know what a comfort it was to me to have my sister "out" of the borg with me, and it does help to make up for all the friends and family you have left behind. Keep us posted on how it's going, ok?

  a fews days ago, i met this elderly jewish man, with such a personaltity.

  he said that he was 8 years old when he was in the concentration camp.

  his stories amazed me.. anyway, as it turns out, he is now an atheist.

  Wow Slayer,

  Thanks for sharing this article, it really made me think about some things. While I usually pride myself on NOT letting the actions of others dictate MY reactions...I confess to having had the quiet rage feelings when I felt forced to listen to someone else's prayers. In a sense...I am prejudiced against Christianity...and I acknowledge that it is MY problem, and I will work on it.

  I had not stopped to think how I AM tolerant of others beliefs, and have a patient curiosity when they are expressing them. The suggestion of adopting this same attitude toward Christianity is an excellent one.(Jayhawk, that was the suggestion to follow). Anyway, thanks again Slayer...you're even good when you're being serious!

  i've been reading this forum page for about a year.

  at first i thought it was a meeting place for practicing jw's but after reading many posts found that most people here have been hurt or don't see things eye to eye with the wt org.

  i am not a jw but i have been associating with them for about 3 yrs.

  hi guys and gals.. not that you missed me, but we took an impromptu vacation to las vegas for a week.. my husband started a new job today and wanted to spend time with our daughter since she's been in ny over the summer.. it was all fun and games till the transmission on his '97 died in barstow, which is 4 hours from everything ha ha ha.. anyhow, we made it home fri night courtesy of a great big tow truck (thank god for triple a).. eden started 7th grade today, all grown up.

  i didn't even get to drop her off at school because hubby has my car.
