Thank you Had Enough and Eric. My WT CD is the 1993 edition so I am somewhat behind. The Awakes also only go as far back as 1980 and I know there are lots of goofy articles in the 1970s because I read them as as a teenager.
Eric if you have a spare copy, I'd be willing to cover any expenses. Let me know what I can do.

Do you have an electronic copy of the 1971 Yearbook? My CD-ROM only goes back to 1980. If you do, would you cut 'n past the actual quote. I'd love to have that quote as an example.
Alternatively, does anyone know if the 1971YB quote is included in any famous "List"?

Actually, the theory that Noah went around the globe dropping animals off at the right places, (perhaps several times at different water levels...helps get mountain goats on mountains etc) is a very good one. It is sort of akin to Santa circling the globe in a day dropping toys off for kids at each home.
I guess the reality of Santa Clause should not be so quickly dismissed if you want to believe in a Noah and an arkfull of species.

There are lots of internal inconsistancies in the first few chapters of Genesis to pick at which shows its mythological heritage.
I imagined that the word "sword" was the closest decription to the rotating blade that barred the way...at least when I was a dub. However, the WTS illustrations show a double edged sword complete with hilt.
I have previously posted an article on snakes in Eden, the legged ones that existed prior to the fall of man. The WTS used to depict the serpent that way at one time.

I think you missed my (poor) attempt at humor. I imagined Adam naming the animals following modern conventions and using latin. I guess before Adam had a mate and tested his manly bits he was of the species homo non-erectus

this is an evil idea so be warned.
i was just thinking back and it came to me how easy it would have been to steel money from the controbution boxes in the congos i use to attend.just volontier to clean the hall at the end of every month and skim away.no one would suspect a thing because cntrobutions are annonymous.and if you where in the right position at bethel you could skim some serious cash.and if somehow you ever got caught i think the sociaty would be reluctant to prosacute in a public court cause of the negative press.anyone else have this bad thought?
Gopher is right on the procedure. I was told by a CO several stories of stealing from the collection box done via the accounts servant. When I did the accounts I always had my assistant or another brother verify the takings on the day and sign for it. That way when the accounts were audited I had proof that the money banked was as counted. (If I worked with my assistant we could could have stolen money but then again it was a measley small amount.)

"The end" for so many will be their own natural deaths. I expect my end to be the same but I don't live life in a dream anymore.
