There are these fantasies about going back in time and killing ones grandmother. like going down the up escalator until you catch up er down with her.
really (I think) the past is gone for good once we have moved through the present into the future. A RECORD of our past exists in the message, picture, sound we have sent into the future and it will will be received by observers later, but out of the past. This is so because we all move through time. Our past does not exist anymore, but the message, light-fossil, you might say, travels at c into the future to be seen later by far-away observers. Think of the balloon expanding through time, the light beam being a tangent going at c (0 travel through time) into the future, but always being inside the balloon skin because it ( the membrane) travels radially through time, the light beam does not. the message could be received by an observer 300 000 km away, who had travelled through time (the radius) for 1 second since the light beam started. the light beam tangent moved through space but not through time. use a pencil and paper. please.
You can not kill your dead grandmother, because only an image of her exists somewhere on a light beam. The ballooon in the 2 space dimension model is empty on the inside. except for the time dimension through wich everything has travelled since the appearance of space and its energy/mass content in the big bang.
We hope that there is time in the future, we want to keep moving into it. --we are glad there was time in the past, because we were there. Time must have been before the universe, before us.
How much time is there in the future? for space to expand into? How much time is there in the past? before space started moving through it? I believe according to this model that time always was and always will be.
IF there is a creator, god that is separate from the talking snake, spare-rib cloned female fable, it would MEAN that he was in that time.this picture is certainly incomplete, but it answers some questions right.

The balance of the universe
by cptkirk ini just wanted to put a few minor examples out there of what i was saying about crime (good/bad), balance in the world, and so forth, picking up from the post that i wrote on here a few days ago.. i want to just also say that i am not condoning crime, nor advocating crime or anything of the sort.
i am merely saying let's look at the world, and understand it a little better.. i was just listening to megadeth (former jw dave mustaine lead singer of course)....i love his music, and i think he is really talented.
imagine if no crime had been committed against dave though.

I can see humans always striving for excellence no matter what our life span. . detecting disasters and crimes before they happen.

WT BtS explanation is what* you give to the ORG that buys you billions of years in paradise. They do not want money that belongs to the ORG to go to those in need.

inspired by the illustration in the april 15th watchtower (above), i thought it would be worthwhile to further explore this facet of the society for two reasons.... because the society has spent decades criticizing the catholic church for being hierarchical, andbecause the society has recently become more open about its hierarchical nature than ever before.below is a diagram i have prepared which shows the organizational similarities that watch tower society now shares with the catholic church.... .
until recently, the governing body could place the "faithful slave" above it at the top of the pyramid, but as of october 5th this fuzzy doctrine was scrapped - thus removing the final distinguishing factor between the governing body and popedom.. as always, i would be interested in your thoughts.... .

What argument is there for a single God?
by Qcmbr inmormon culture is replete with the concept of multiple gods and requires it to work.
other than a few biblical references does anyone have any compelling arguments for why any god, deist , creationist or full on personal god would - of necessity- be alone.
the argument seems somewhat weaker if the gender is applied as well.

Does an "all knowing" God have the leisure of choosing not to know something?

i can remove the idea of predestination with knowing something in advance, why would the watch tower insist that god chooses not to know something?
is that even possible for god?

2) "single event foresight" In my simple mind, I put this in a question and answer form. I would not claim for a creator more than a knowledgeable creature. For example predicting total eclipses time and location into the next century. or any event like that, but universe-wide. or events commensurate with the mental capacity of such a creator.
1) The existence of a the universe for me, a skilled manual worker (one of my hobbies is making flying sculptures), in my MIND is more easily explained as a work. rather than a random oscillation gone ballistic. In my mother tongue, which has lent itself for great analytical thought, the word for reality has the root "WORK" , so I drank that concept with my mothers milk.

of course if there is no even a possibility of a creator, or god, or the concept even, we would not be talking here about an "all knowing" god; right?
I would be the first to applaud PROOF of a natural emerging, un-created, existing cosmos, it would not require me , (I think) to abandon beliefs I hold now. learning keeps me young. thank you for helping that process along.
