whenever somebody reproaches me for not using the name, , I reply, using Smiddy's quote. Jesus is not recorded to have ever used it, or, can you show me in the bible??, even when dying, surely an occasion to "bear witness" he said "Eli--". always shuts them up.

Was Jesus really a Jehovah`s Witness ? He never identified himself as such , in word or deed.
by smiddy inalso he never chastised the jews for not identifying themselves as jehovah`s witnesses following isaiah`s statement at ch.43 :10-12 , so many years before hand.. and he had ample opportunity to do so on numerous occasions .. jesus himself never used the divine name /jehovah or any other equivalent , in any of his sayings attributed to him by his contemporaries .. sure he acknowledged god as his father and that he did his fathers will , but he never acknowledged him by a personal name such as jehovah or anything like it.. and lets not forget acts 11:26 it was first in antioch that followers of jesus by divine providence were to be called christians , not jehovah`s witnesses,.

Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

Fisherman, your conviction stands and falls now on the understanding of what Jesus meant when he said : all these things that are destined to occur. what happened in Jerusalem, to the temple??, the all is all embracing, not just a precursor sign.
The anointed generation has too short an advertised shelf life to be real.

F: "-- the GT is not part of the sign ponting to it.--" so: Did Jesus say the generation will not pass away before all the sign occurs, --or "not pass away" before all, all events, including the jerusalem destruction, end of the world occurs ?
So, was the destruction of jerusalem, the temple, just a sign of bad or good things to come,-- or the real thing? is Armageddon just a sign or the real thing? in other words sign of what?

F: "why Wt teaches that the anointed pass away before the bird food. why? The "anointed have to be in heaven to take part in the Armageddon combat, they are the only 144 000 plus 2 immortal ones in the cosmos. They must also be ready for the complete bride for the Marriage of the Lamb, that puts the constraint on wt, forced them into the mistake.
The anointed can not be the generation Jesus talked about. it is resolved!

Wt theology only holds, if they revert back to the OS,GC "generation", and abandon the "anointed: generation. The generation has to survive Armageddon, according to jesus. The anointed will not.
Keep it simple, look at the Jesus' words, read his lips: "will not pass away".

Fisherman, my concern about the wt generation, anointed** is, that
Jesus specified, that the generation would not pass away, or die, before all would happen, that includes the biggest disaster ever. Current wt timetable has the anointed generation die, pass away to heaven long before Armageddon, the greatest disaster for the human race ever to be foretold. ergo:
The anointed can not be the generation Jesus was talking about. they do not fit the description at their end.
**whether they overlap or not, does not matter here, they can not pass away before Armageddon to fit what jesus said. thank you.

Faithful Slave is not appointed yet - only in the future
by TheWonderofYou indid you read this study articel in which the slave says it is not appointed yet?.
excerpt from study articel 13 7/15 p 8. so there is good reason for us to understand matthew 24:46, 47 to mean that jesus will arrive to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings at that time in the future during the great tribulation.

That "well done F&DS" appointment during the Great Tribulation will be a big disappointment, --why? because according to wt prophecy, it is then, well before Armageddon, that all the appointed anointed die, are raptured , called to heaven.
wt prophecy is a still born affair. dead on arrival.

Fisherman: "--"REgarding their explanation of the 2nd group of anointed,---" Wt explains that the final group of anointed will die well before the battle of Armageddon. , The GC, ( really it's prospective members), survives, or, to use Jesus' words: "--does not pass away. --".
I opened a challenge to that wt " anointed " idea.:- "The Remnant of the Anointed can not be the Generation of Math. 24." prove wt right, prove the proposition wrong. your answer is above.

let it be resolved: The remnant can not be the generation of Mat. 24.
by prologos indebating challenge: since the wt doctrine of the anointed generation must conform to bible teachings, and math 24 stipulates that the "generation " outlives "all these things" , and the anointed do not, how could they possibly be the generation, overlapping or not?

Bobcat, where is the proof in that text, that the presently living "anointed partakers" can be the wt generation? that Jesus was talking about, when he said that they will survive the end? -

Lieu, The premise of the debate is independent of the 2 group generation idea, but your's is a great observation:
There's that nagging prerequisite of being alive from start to finish.
Jesus' words clearly imply that the same individuals would experience all the features of the calamity he was talking about.
