That is a fall of barometric pressure you would experience when rain is coming, so Noah, if there ever was one, could breath easy (except for the animal stench that wafted), as he drifted over Mount Everest.   james, you make a point I did not think about. The speedy haste with which sloth, coala bears, pandas, turtles, returned to their native land after the flood, can now be explained by the cold in the rarefied atmosphere of mt. ararat. May be we cant find any wood there, because it was used in the fires to warm the disembarking -disarching?- passengers? or fashioned into sleighs to slide down the slopes?

  james, I did not mean of ararat, but everest, even then, with all that biomass, living or not, (think of the steaming dung accumulating for nine month), and the latent heat from the fall of the water canopy, overheating, not outside cold would have been the problem, of course, ever since the writing of this fable, the credibility of that story has been going downhill all the way from 15 000 feet. quite a slide.

  extremely sad as the news is coming out.

  6 police shot in louisiana and 3 dead so far.. i'm waiting for a response from the nra stating that we are safer when we are all armed.

  the police had guns and the shooter(s) had guns so i guess they are good with it.. our thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected.. rub a dub.

  When it comes to shooting police officers, it has a ring of warfare to it. Many of the civilians killed by the law, had already a criminal history, and their death was a disaster waiting to happen to them, these targeted cop killings, by trained killers (army , marines) raises the killings by criminals to a new level. laws or not.

  The ark (if any) would not float at stratospheric levels, she would be floating at sea level, the new sea level. The atmospheric pressure in the slightly stretched atmosphere, would not be less than climbing to the second floor. It would also not be colder, oxygen starved, but really hot. study your physics.

  the new testament is almost entirely written in greek.. jesus spoke aramaic.

  You would think that a creator that makes it possible to have shapes of animals preserved for millions of years in amber, would do the same for sayings (if any) of the co-creator, his " special son" , if they were meant to be life saving, a cure-all . They are obviously not.

  The graph clearly shows that mankind was disobedient long before the fall at Eden. The command to be fruitful and multiplay was not given until -4000 on the time (horizontal axis), and they obviously started to copulate/populate at -10 000. The irresistible itch. jumping the gun. generating gun, overlapping ever since.

  ruby456: "coded logic i think the god of the gaps idea is only a logical fallacy if an individual believes in intelligent design.

  Or the design is so intelligent, that it needs no further re-design after the one and only creation event, blurred for us in it's intensity. A perfect planned retirement, no more involvement with the increasingly pesky offspring. Each detail present in a gap that is uncovered merely shows with which richness the whole thing works, and there is more to come, we might never run out of gaps:-- gasp. just because we find out how it works, does not mean it was not work in the first place. wirkliche werke.
