  Second Temple Judaism's Iranian Connections - something to think about

  the jw's (and many other christians) believe that their religious beliefs are derived from yhwh who personally taught men of old the truth.. this view is not supported by evidence, on the contrary, when we consider the religious beliefs of neighbouring peoples, we can find evidence that the jewish elite were influenced by the religious beliefs of their surrounding neighbours.. this short video purports to demonstrate a connection between jewish thinking at the start of second temple judaism and the iranians who practised zoroastrianism.

  i heard my hard out jw sister say that for the 1st time in many years and i'm hearing more and more jw's saying that.

  years ago when i was in they talked about the new system coming any minute..

  When I heard the circuit overseer say that, or rather he had to say it,- from the outline, he kind of cringed. I thought, now comes Jesus' parable of the seven demons repossessing the man who was exorcised. , they did not go that far, but equalizing doubt with demon possession goes too far, now,-- that talking snake must have been demon possessed even before 1914 right?

  "It is an inspired expression of error to not believe the end will come in our lifetime".

  what on earth did that mean ?

  It means, according to wt, that if you think you will not see the new world without dying, you are demonized. If you say that, you spreading a demon inspired expression. Jws will shun you. dont say it. Depending on your age, expectations should vary. if you are pushing 90, armageddon is really close now. Now , if we only could verify the talking snake incident.

  why worry about hair, he was a perfect man, according to medical experts, he died of a broken heart. and he died for you. A perfect man died of a broken heart for you, what more do you want?

  Jehovah God is Real

  there are many on this site that do not believe that jehovah truly exists; that he is not a real being.

  but, he is as real as next breath you draw into your nostrils.. some of you say that there is no evidence that he exists.

  yet, none of you can prove that he does not exits.. cofty, (you come to mind), i appreciate that you have stated, without reservation, that you do not believe that god exists.. yet, you cannot prove it.. hope in jehovah..

  I pity the elders, or the families that have to deal with alcoholism, that clearly runs in families, genes or not, nature vs nurture.To escape, --families will divorce, congregations will disfellowship, Recovery though, is not a 'service, prayer, meetings,- bible study'- remedy, but it happens, try AA.

I was trying to keep the conversation on a less serious level, The spelling of "fox" in german has changed since this ancient poem was written, all which of course is nonsense, flights of fancy, These lengthy poems were put up here just to prove that the name was in current use then, but, alas not for the creator, but a lesser deity.

  despite my often smart-ass exterior, i really don't have any desire to see the r&f dubs suffering.

  i really do worry about the mental and emotional turmoil that they will experience, if and when the wtbts is truly exposed as a scam.

  i know it seems unlikely to happen, but you never know..... anyway, the wt for the week was cringe-worthy to say the least.

  ctrwtf13 minutes agoThe ancients weren't stupid. They could observe the moon and come to the same conclusion.

  or the fuzzy outline of the Earth projected in a lunar eclipse. with Atlas, or turtles conspicuous by their absence. The bible has more statements of the socle, basis of the Earth, it's pillars, it's four corners than that one lucky hit, the nothing of energy.
