Blood Transfusion Increases Mortality in Heart Attacks

i understand that the objection to blood transfusions by jehovah's witnesses is purely a scriptural one.

whether or not there are medical benefits to avoiding blood transfusions is, or should be, irrelevant.

however, for those who are not convinced by jw understanding of the scriptures in this regard, and those who don't believe either in the bible and/or in god, the fact that blood transfusion is associated with increased mortality in heart attacks may be of interest.. a systematic search of studies published between january 1, 1966, and march 31, 2012, was conducted using medline, embase, cinahl, scopus, web of science, and cochrane central register of controlled trials databases.

cofti: so? only he weakest patients get blood transfusions (and I am not talking about "weak" jws), so it is no surprise more of the weak ones die. But:

A blood transfusion is a (liquid) organ transplant, for that reason always ascociated with risk

I worked for the head nurse of a major research hospital, which had other personel that was helpful in avoiding blood, and named in the wt video/disk, and she said:

I would never take a blood transfusion.

Of course, like, a new heart, new kidney transplant there serious situations were no other remedy works. but one should not take blood just for cosmetic reasons, or to prove a point, or to win the TOUR de FRANCE or Olympic gold.

Of the many things that is wrong with bible intrepretations, limiting the "letting" of blood or non-emergency use might not be one of them.

i read in a forum in spanish that there is a strong rumor spreading in the corridors of the wt.

has anyone heard anything about this??

the change that is emerging is this: the great crowd has not yet appeared, and it is a group that comes out of the great tribulation.

In other words the old light of wt is that

1) the 12 tribes are the earthly class (New annointed were formerly "other sheep" )

2) the great Crowd is the earthly class . (not yet re-organized into 12 New World divisions, Zones, branches) thankfully.

there are several things wrong with that. maybe. truly.

listener, listen please. The sealing of the 144 000 is not for protection, to the contrary it is to confirm their martyrs death. the first sealed one was probably Stephen. the sealed ones rule with Christ.in order to rule with Christ you have to die by the "Ax" a sacrificial death.

One possibility is that those of the 12 tribes (that come out of all the nations) that are not sealed i.e. martyred, are also the great crowd you see in the turbulent wake of the Great tribulation. Thats not new news, light,

im amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!

and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.

there was a lawsuit some time ago in NY state where a ski lift/gondola malfunction left an orthodox unmarried couple stuck for longer than 10 minutes without chaperone 1840 style. look at Pr.30:18 and all the hearf rendering love stories where lovers never come close.

Other factors: These sisters knew you for decades?, so you are all in your 30s 40s? what do they know about you? are you all married?

did you know that many wifes will forgive their husbands a casual juicy liaison, but not an emotional attachment to a rival female? so:

Fornication is not always the danger.

these scenarios have been staged to trap the innocent, or to trigger a jealous response from interested parties, right or wrong.

so count the "sisters" distance requirement as a blessing, it will leave room for the right one to move in close, and no room for doubt.

surely most of you have had this experience at least once .

you start a topic / thread and before you know it somebody has taken it way off on another tangent, completely away from your original topic , and evrybody has gone down that path .and you come back and think wtf ?

that is the beauty of conversations like this. one might suggest a topic and give a resume' of information gathered, but really be at once wits end, so everyone goes at it and the most interesting connections are learned by all.

This process should be encouraged to some extend. only When it trails off into personality conflicts, wider readership will abandon interest.

Profound truth have been learned by discovering hidden realities in known phenomena. and we are tapping here into the combined intelect of a notoriously exploration- friendly, anti-conforming bunch. example:

All things are connected. take any one of the erroneous WT doctrines that prop up the belief-edifice, pull it out, and that particular house of card will hit the deck.

The tribes that concocted these fables lived before the greek philosophers, their story tellers had ideas strange to our mindset, and that is why the talking snakes, cloned females, fruit tree tales, Abel the Vegetarian's "sacrifices" of meat etc do not, and can not make sense to us, and serve mainly to weed out the credulous.

the Field-service, money, obedience IS the shouting, IS the service day and night of the great Crowd of Other Sheep NOW, during these last, cut short days.

The writer/story teller quoted in Luke 21:8 must have had in mind the definition of the false prophet in Deutr. 18 . and while Luke says "do not (follow) go after them " Deuteronomy has this earlier admonition written for us:

Deut.18:22 "YOU MUST NOT GET FRIGHTENED AT HIM"

The Israelites were told "to go after them (false prophets)" only to do them in verse 20 --er--disfellowship them.
