i moved this comment from another thread to here as i felt it deserved its own thread.. one thing i've noticed is that the letters from paul often include the phrase "all the holy ones", such as at eph 1:15. some translations render this "all the saints".
people die, so at least it is natural, believable memorable, to remember Jesus' certain death, but
The story of a true resurrection, patterned after a 3+1/2 days, normally fatal encounter with super "Jaws", stretches the imagination, with due respect for believers.
people were not only willing to suffer as victims as the early christians for the faith in the resurrection did, but
other fanatics sought death actively in defense of what they thought was a noble, but knew was a lost cause. so:
sacrifice is no proof of authenticity.
What a beautiful time to be alive, as the southern hemisphere goes into autumn.
after being put under a lot of pressure by family and ex-friends to attend the memorial this year (i didn't).
i'm thinking of attending next year and drinking the wine and eating the bread.
because i beleive the whole memorial to be a rejection of christ ceremony.. i'm prepared to receive a lot of weird death stare looks.. has anyone here ever partaken?
genesis 11 : 6 the lord said, behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language.
and this is what they begin to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them.. according to watchtower doctrine, after adam eve f**ked it up for us in the garden of eden, god left mankind to their own devices in order to prove that they could not rule themselves.. if this is correct, then his interference at the tower of bable was in direct conflict of what he was supposed to be trying to prove.
his own inteference in my opinion also invalidates his argument that mankind needs god to direct them.
alameda county administrator's premium pay end hearst/article/premium_article_tools_480.tpl end premium_story_header.tpl article/types/premium_story.tpl hearst/common/author_name.tpl by matier & ross.
e hearst/common/author_name.tpl article_timestamp.tpl march 25, 2013. alameda county supervisors have really taken to heart the adage that government should run like a business, rewarding county administrator susan muranishi with the wall street-like wage of $423,664 a year.. for the rest of her life.. according to county pay records, in addition to her $301,000 base salary, muranishi receives:-- $24,000, plus change, in "equity pay" to guarantee that she makes at least 10 percent more than anyone else in the county.. -- about $54,000 a year in "longevity" pay for having stayed with the county for more than 30 years.. -- an annual performance bonus of $24,000.. -- and an additional $9,000 a year for serving on the county's three-member surplus property authority, an ad hoc committee of the board of supervisors that oversees the sale of excess land.. like other county executives, muranishi also gets an $8,292-a-year car allowance.. muranishi has been with the county for 38 years, and she's 63. when retirement day comes, she'll be getting a lot more than a gold watch.. that's because, according to the county auditor's office, muranishi's annual pension will be equal to the dollar total of her entire yearly package - $413,000.
she also has a separate executive private pension plan, for which the county chips in $46,500 a year.. "and she's worth every dime," said supervisor scott haggerty, who was on the board when it promoted muranishi to county administrator in 1995, voted for her and joined in approving her base pay and perks.. "we're lucky to have her," haggerty said.. he likens the job of running the county administration to being ceo of a $2.4 billion corporation, with 9,000 employees.. granted, the $2.4 billion is taxpayer money, and the county isn't set up to turn a profit.
i am 32, old enough to remember being told to refute the big bang as untrue by my parents and the religion they brought me up in.. it was a big decision for me even as a teen, i knew i was choosing a side, i remember my physics teacher laughing and mocking me and the other jw for denying the big bang.
our parents arranged that in our exams we were allowed to answer questions on the big bang in a unique manner:.
"scientists claim......... but as a jw i do not subscribe to this belief.".
S&N, in an expanding universe of space and its content, starting from a point of origin, every most distant point is equi distant from itself. A distant observer looking in our direction with her own PLANK sensors would see us as part of the back ground radiation. Every point in the universe was once a part of the Big bang.
We are the center of the universe, and so is EVERYBODY ELSE. and look to them to be the fringe.
the new covenant just discussed (or not) at the memorial, promises to have all that "in our hearts, Minds".
Could someone please put a grit of each 5st line in front of that important text of L's?, so we can identify for all what point is the discussion refering to. (this is used in patent practise)
perhaps this way we can come to some sort of consensus what each of these entities mean, and should be retained in our minds.
