  Due to Ongoing Concern about Dwindling Meeting Attendances, IS THE BOOK STUDY ARRANGEMENT GOING TO BE RE-INSTATED NEXT YEAR?

  i have some family and friends still in the organization.

  i don't actively seek updates - my lovely contacts provide me with them unsolicited.

  so far the updates have been reliable and confirmed sooner or later by subsequent developments.

  In at least one developing country we had all weekly meetings done on Sunday with intermission, rotating over head sign or electronic message board like on a bus- route indicator showing what meeting was in progress.

  Good points made here. why would bylaws be a problem at night, when the group is called a service/center and still clogs up the neighborhood on saturday mornings ?

  The centralized book study errr "Bible" study stifles good discussion, because the same delusioned teachers monopolize the 30 second comment slots.

  and if you think the Jeremiah book is a yawn, wait to gripe until you see what is coming down the pipe. to gripe.

  In the old days, it was great to spring a surprise, but relevant comment on the conductor and see him and his supporters scramble to tie it back into WT speak.

  if you dumb down a religion that wrongly prided itself on spirituality, even the deluded ones will shrink away.

  " - john 12:8. how is this compatible with the notion of a future paradise on earth, [end of history] where the poverty will be eliminated forever?.

  context seems to show that it is ok do do special favors like giving a away a year's income to a favored cause.

  did the bible writer make a statement to have eternal meanings? perhaps.

  Think of a paradise parasitic dweller that wants to be rich by saving.

  let him put away just one penny,- or the non-monetary equivalent --, every million years, without even getting near eternity, he/she would have horded all the copper in the universe, a trace element vital for life, certainly in the tree of life.so

  in paradise there will be no super rich, creating a deprived, poor class.

  no under-motivated individuals either, they all died at the A for neglecting their duty ------.

  In the story, the talking snake incident primes. that triggered the rotating blades. but

  original sin or not, A&E needed that tree, fruit, salad or tea*, to sustain by -- possiblyregular-- intake their perfect, mortal animal-like life.

  It is not a given that the eating of the tree of life was a one - time - only deal, even if the eating of the tree of knowledge was .

  One false step and you are out, versus a life long journey with good metabolism. . so:

  in the beginning bible story and in reality they were, in a physical sense just evolved/created MORTAL primates. but "very good"

  mankind did not have INHERENT never ending life, just like the perfect animals,-- because

  human's continuing, everlasting lfe depended on a balanced, steady DIET including the tree of LIFE.

  Remember what happened when that supply was interdicted.

  So what made us special was the DIET and some evolved limited smarts.

  How was this arrangement going to work with filling the earth? seeds to be carried abroad? prilgrimages back to headquarters?

  the comforting thought: Genesis had it right on I only count: we are bodily just animals.

  not endorsing the fable as a source or basis of TRUTH here.

  there is a vast difference between general statements and.

  specific statements although superficially they may be similar.. think of this as the kind of difference there is between a telescope and a microscope.. the telescope views objects from long distances and brings them closer.

  a microscope takes near objects and enlarges them to the point everything contained inside is revealed.. the telescope is general and the microscope is specific.. now what would be an example of a general statement and a specific statement?.
